The primary attraction for my recent stay was without doubt the setting of this hotel on the West coast of Jersey. The views are breathtaking across St Ouen's Bay and The Atlantic Ocean and on a clear day you can see Guernsey and some of the smaller Channel Islands.
I have to mention the quality of the staff. From the moment you are greeted until the moment you depart, you will experience world-class service.
Ocean Restaurant was another reason for staying and will be my primary reason for returning. Michelin Star food of the highest quality and unlike many fine dining restaurants, I found the food unpretentious, incredible to look at and most importantly, stunning to eat.
We had the taster menu, which didn't break the bank and I challenge even the hardiest of diners not to feel well and truly satisfied after the 7th course!
What made the stay even better, was the hand made sweets served with coffee and the fact that the chef had taken the time to write 'Happy Birthday' in chocolate for my partner.
The rooms are very stylish and of course if you are lucky enough to have an ocean view room, you get to wake-up to that incredible view.
I was also very pleased to find that the full English breakfast was included in the price of the room.
This is a hotel truly worthy of its membership to Small Luxury Hotels of the world and anyone who wants the highest quality but would like the luxury with a bit of peace and quiet will not be disappointed.
This is the reason why I joined SLH in the first place... well done.
Room Tip: To really take advantage of the unique setting, opt for an Ocean View Room.
