I booked this hotel for accommodation for a pilgrimage as the other hotel was fully booked. I was a bit apprehensive as the general standard in Knock, either for staying or eating out, is not great. I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel.
The decor is a bit dated and shabby in places but if you can overlook that you'll see a clean, warm and comfortable place to stay. We stayed one night and for 89 euros each we had dinner, bed and breakfast. The dinner was lovely, very tasty and lots of veg! The breakfast was a bit basic, no fresh fruit or rolls/croissants but was satisfactory.
There is a lift but it isn't easily accessible to all rooms, if you have mobility problems ask for a room beside the lift, there are quite a few stairs.
I didn't use the steam room/jacuzzi etc so can't comment on that.
The most impressive aspect of this hotel is the staff. I had to change our booking twice and it was no problem. They are friendly, very helpful and are a big asset to the hotel. I hope the owners recognise this!
All in all it was a great stay, we all slept well as the road beside us seemed quiet and we will be back!
