We went to the Feile Bia na Mara banquet here, how dissappointing. I was curious to know what Ross Lewis (chapter one) thought of being offered tea and coffee with the main course! What great produce and some of it wasted by serving it cold some seafood is just not meant to be cold i.e. Lemon sole! Room, cold and stark, breakfast, well my scrambled egg still had the shape of the bowl they were microwaved in! There was a tornedo in Achill the next day, that was us getting of the island.............and out of this hotel.

Once again visited the Achill and stayed at the Ostan Acla. Una and staff excellent. A good value. Always enjoy the stay.

Loved this little sparkle of a hotel,its lovely scenary and its poetic lifeness,its rumbling bar and friendly staff and the smell of the Atlantic,its kitchens roaring and the pint of guinness afore me,i am planing my trip back shortly una lol kool pad

We arrived in Achill Sound on the Saturday of the bank holiday weekend. After a 4 hour drive I was looking forward to showering and getting freshened up for the night ahead. The shower was freezing and the water pressure was a dribble. Not only that but after my terrible shower the room temperature was non existent so I was so cold!! We went down to Alices Bar downstairs which is much more like a dining room than somewhere young people can enjoy the craic. That night The Druids one of Irelands leading Rebel Bands were playing so excellent music but very poor crowd. returning to the rooms in the early hours the rooms were freezing to the point of shivering!! we gotup early and left for Keel and although we had paid 160ish euro for the two nights we did not return to the hotel the Sunday night and only came back on the Monday morning to collect our stuff and leave.
