We started our visit to Ireland at Eileen's B&B. She was a most welcoming hostess. She went above & beyond to make our stay the most enjoyable. We sure miss her homemade guinness cake. When we return to Ireland we will be looking forward to staying at the Orcard and seeing Eileen again. We highly recommend staying there if you want good Irish hospitality.

Booked a room at The Orchard for a couple of nights as a base for exploring Western Ireland. Upon arrival I was presented with homemade cake, scones and jam (and tea). A great way to start my stay.

After a good nights sleep, I was served duck-eggs and smoked salmon for breakfast, besides the cereal and homemade bread (and toast) that was also served. Breakfast at The Orchard is both delicious and plentiful.

The room was nice and clean, as was the bathroom. Besides the key for the room, I was given a key to the front door, so I could come and go as I pleased. You can reach downtown Newcastle West by foot in about 15 minutes.

At all times, Mrs. Murphy was very helpful and suggestive with ideas for trips in and around county Limerick (I can recommend a trip to Dingle peninsula). Also at all times, there was cake and bread and tea/coffee available in the dining room.

I had a very nice stay and would definitely recommend this B&B to others.

Eileen was a most welcoming hostess and helped to make our visit to Ireland a great success. One of the best features, besides the lovely Georgian farmhouse, was the choice of breakfast. After deciding on a smoked salmon omelette, we were asked if we'd like hen eggs or duck eggs. Having never been offered duck eggs we chose them and the resulting breakfast was extraordinary. Our stay at the Orchard was wonderful. We stayed for a total of 5 nights and found it to provide everything we needed. It was the perfect location in Newcastle West. We could easily walk/run to town daily. Eileen was very gracious and friendly and provided us with a wonderful breakfast daily. The homemade jams that topped our breads, scones, and cakes were out of this world. Her crepes reminded me of my mother's, which was neat because she was raised in Newcastle West. My husband said that the omelette Eileen served was the best he had ever eaten. I would say it is due to the fact that the eggs were very fresh. Actually, all of the food was very fresh and delicious. She was very accommodating also, as she made me egg whites.
We look forward to staying at the Orchard in the future and seeing Eileen. It was a pleasure.
