The rooms are reasonably comfortable but only if you stay at the back of the hotel. There is a very busy main road only 20 feet from the hotel frontage and the noise of traffic pounding along carries on 24 hours a day. In the summer this is made worse because you will want to open windows for ventilation. Frankly this noise is almost intollerable and I made sure that I had my room changes as soon as I realised the problem. When booking insist on a room at the back overlooking the car park. Also the rooms at the front are incredibly small whereas the rear ones are quite adequate. There is no mini-bar in the room but tea making facilities are provided and a trouser press. Also there is a night club in the basement level. This is not a problem Monday to Thursday but at the weekend you can forget sleeping unless you are located on the top floor and well away from the wandering drunks who sometimes frequent the hallways. There is an underused restaurant in the hotel but the food is overpriced and mundane. Much better to eat snack type meals in the hotel bar or go out of the hotel, walk around the corner and get a very acceptable meal at the Italian restaurant.
Also there are some typical Irish pubs locally and the food isn't bad in these either. A short walk through the town takes you to a nice Chinese restaurant too. Breakfasts in the hotel are good. There are two bar lounges, both comfortable.
