“Absolutely Awful - Stay Away”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2008

We stayed at this hotel for one night and never ever again. We checked in at 7pm and within 2 hours we were sitting in the dark due to power failure. Anywhere can have a power failure but for a hotel not to have a generator beggered belief. The bed in our double room was two single beds shoved together. The next morning we were greeted by brown water running through the taps and shower. The waitress in the restaurant at breakfast looked like she wished she was anywhere else and muttered at us over our order. Later in the day we ordered a dessert from the bar menu and were served sour cream with our apple crumble. The staff were unprofessional. The chairs in the bar are black with dirt. The hotel is dirty, dated and unkempt.

“friendly blonde barmaid”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2007

stayed here overnight with my daughter, welcomed at reception politely and professionally, had lovely bar food and had to praise the bar staff,, friendly, mannerly, and very efficient, had all customers involved in the same conversation, which happens rarely in bars , and the lady was very nice to my daughter,
will call again.

“Terrible Place - stay away”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 October 2007

Noisey Nightclub. Noisey drunk Nightclub patrons. No management to be found after dark. Couldn't sleep until after 3a.m. Don't waste your money here. I found the staff to be friendly but frustrated. Give this place a wide berth.

“What a great place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 July 2007

Had a really fab stay last week at this hotel. From the staff to the food, I really could not fault it. We had a mid week stay at a very special rate of 80 euros including breakfast. It was great just to be able to chill out and we ate there the first night and went to a lovely chinese the 2nd night. The rooms were really big incomparsion to the small rooms that are in most hotels these days! Good Food+really friendly staff+comfy bed=happy customer who will return very soon.

“Not Great”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 July 2007

Did not stay here, but had a meal last week and it was appalling. We should have complained there and then but we were just so hungry and disappointed with our meal we ate some and then left. My husband had seafood chowder and he has this in most places he did not feel good for the rest of the day. I had a wrap and it was smothered in Mayonaise... The toilets were run down....
I will not be going back here again I just wish there was a restauarant guide like Trip Advisors hotel guide as it really gives a great idea for food etc... We did not want a fancy meal all we wanted was a delicious lunch....
We had a fab holiday in East and South East of Ireland the only downside was the meal in Ashbourne Court Hotel...
We ate from Galway to Wexford to Wicklow to Naas to Dublin to Portlaoise and Tullamore in the last 10 days and Ashbourne Court Hotel was the only place we had an unpleasent experience and unprofessional staff.......
