Four years ago, my husband and I got married at Roundwood, when Frank and Rosemary were looking after guests. Now, four years on, with Paddy and Hannah, the next generation are looking after things, and it was as perfect as ever. Romantic, relaxed - with INCREDIBLE food, old world comfort, crackling fires and country walks. Dinner in the formal dining room is shared with other guests. The first course is polite. By the second course, the food has a magical effect, and you realise you're probably related to the person next to you, and by the time you're back sitting by the fire in the drawing room you're old friends.
We fell in love with Roundwood as a starry eyed couple, and now as knackered parents, we escape once in a while for the perfect retreat from the madding crowd. The only negative thing about staying in Roundwood is having to leave.
