“Great location, historical cottage”

My husband and I and my sister and her husband spent 3 nights here on a trip to Western Ireland. We loved Cloch na Scith. What a treat to stay in a historical Thatched Cottage. Nancy greeted us with tea/coffee and a freshly baked apple tart. Our rooms were big and very comfortable with lovely linens and immaculately clean. My sisters' room had a beautiful view of Galway Bay, so, ask for that room if you can. You need to have a car for this location. It is a perfect home base to tour the Aran Islands, Galway, Connemara and the Burren. We wished we'd stayed at least 2 more nights. Nancy gave us a lovely breakfast each morning starting with freshly baked scones, fresh fruits and cereals and on to something hot. Nancy has self-catering cottages as well that look just as lovely.

“Best Scones Ever!!”

We stayed here on a stopover to see Galway and head through. The thatched cottage was excellent! The beds and pillows were the best we'd had in Ireland and the peat fire made the cottage feel our own little piece of Ireland.
The scones that were made for us were the best that we have had while in the UK and Ireland. And that is comparing them to afternoon tea at Harrod's!

Cloch Na Scith is very conveniently situated for traveling to the Aran Islands. The house itself is charming. Nancy is very friendly & pleasant host: if you aren't too pressed for time, this is a good place to stay. The food was excellent.

“A True Home Away From Home”

We planned to stay one night at Cloch na Scith and wish we had allowed for more time. We were greeted with tea and cake and seated next to a peat fire. Having driven for most of the day, the warmth of the fire and homemade sweets were delightful.

Rooms were bright and clean with comfortable beds. The dinner recommendation we received was wonderful and the B&B's location next to a beach access point was also a great surprise. We were encouraged to make ourselves at home and the fire was kept roaring to keep out the evening chill.

Breakfast was made to order and simply amazing!! I would recommend this B&B to anyone and will be staying there again next time I'm in the Galway area.

“A gorgeous spot, beautifully decorated and restored!”

My husband and I stayed here last weekend for two nights and we loved it. It was so lovely to arrive and have the turf fire lit and Nancy had some apple tart waiting for us (which was delicious!!!). Our room was so pretty and perfectly decorated in cottage style but with a modern touch. The bed was a bit squeeky but it added to the effect. Breakfast was AMAZING!!!A selection of cereals, homemade breads, homemade scones, delicious Irish breakfast, a lovely omellette, everything was gorgeous. In the evenings Nancy served us a hot port in the living room and that for me was the ultimate personal touch. We will definitely be back!
