My boyfriend and I stayed here on 22 June for a wedding in the area. There seemed to be a shortage of accommodation in this region so we went for the Clarinbridge, which to me, did not look great on the web site and this was further verified upon our arrival. The hotel is a new build and looks OK from the outside. It is in a woody area, but totally surrounded by a MASSIVE car park. Not nice on the eye when you look out of the window. Such a shame, they could have done better with the lovely land. We were given our room on ground level, which I did not like. It was dark and I was slightly nervous of being on ground level with an open window. The staff, which I cannot fault at all, offered us another room on a higher floor. This room was much better with more light. It was clean although I find the décor rather atrocious with red carpets and just generally unpleasing, but I have to admit it was clean and adequate. I wouldn't be complaining if the prices were adequate as well, but I was left hurting after paying about £100 a night for staying a middle of nowhere in a very unremarkable place.
After checking in, my boyfriend and I took a drive to Galway town. On the way there, we saw that there were various bed and breakfasts with vacancies. We were quite tempted to enquire, but we were only there for the weekend so it didn't seem worthwhile. I had searched the net extensively for B&Bs in this area prior to our visit with no luck. I guess they are just not that well publicised!
