My husband and I stayed at hotel for 2 nights, 9th - 11th Dec'11, we were attending a birthday party on the Friday night. Finding the exit to gain access to the hotel grounds is an absolute nightmare, the signage is so small, you will miss it as we did. The reception area is ok, bit old fashioned. We asked for top floor room which we got, I prefer top floor, less noise, or thats what I thought. The residents in the next room argured till 6 in the morning, the night staff came up and spoke to them, we didn't complain but others must have. The room is badly in need of a make over, however it was clean, bathroom was fine but the water pressure in the shower wasn't good.
The bar is old fashioned and smelt a bit musty, but bar men were very friendly.
As i've said previously we were attending a birthday party, which was held in the function room, it is beautiful compared to rest of hotel. The food was lovely, we had a four course meal, the staff were very efficent and again very pleasent.
We all went back to the residents bar untill the very early hours and again bar man was very good and very patient. Breakfast on both mornings was also good, just the usual cereal, toast, fruit, sausages etc, and plenty of it.
The hotel is by no means luxury, but ok.
