“Had a family meal here, it was fantastic. So good went twice.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2011

First visit on 9/8/11, there were 6 of us.The adults had the roast beef, mash & veg. The kids had mash & gravy. The gravy was absolutly wonderfull, i've never tasted gravy so good. Service & staff were excellant. Our second visit on 16/8/11 there were 7 of us, same order & again a fantastic meal. Will certainly go there again when i visit Malin.

“Ok for an overnight stay”

After traveling 3hours to get to the malin hotel we had to wait an extra hour for our room to be ready (even though we were told check in was at 2). After reading the reviews before we came we expected friendly staff with a bit of Craic, this expectation wasn't met. The waitresses during the day were very unenthusiastic & the bar food wasn't great. The room was clean however there was nothing to do in the town & even the next town carndough hasn't much to offer. The evening meal in the jack yeates restaurant was standard and the menu was very limited. We didnt recieve fresh towels on the second day, despite leaving the hanger for house keeping on the door & had to ask at reception for towels (after tracking down a member of staff) In the mornings for breakfast there was no staff around to let us know if we could come on in for breakfast & how everything worked. We were also told to leave our key at reception if we wanted to go out but each time failed to find a member of staff to leave the key with. This would be an appropriate location for an older couple for one night, if I were to go back I'd stay at a hotel with a spa.

“Excellent value for money, good food and friendly staff”

Although small in size this hotel is big in heart. Staff are excellent and you may find the same person working on reception, serving breakfast and doing anything else that needs doing but that is part of the joy of this little boutique hotel. We have just returned from a break around Ireland and having stayed in five different hotels this was our favourite. You are made to feel at home the second you pass through the door and nothing is a problem to the staff. I absolutely loved this hotel and will be back. Pure value for money. A big thanks to all the staff. The only negative that I would have is I would not like the 'Basta' door locks on the room doors for security reasons but this can be my only moan.

“What a Suprise”

We arrived at approximately 4:00 PM to find our room ready to go. The price of an afternoon snack was reasonable. The first night we ate in the restaurant and while there was not enough staff to serve the amount of people the food was great and the price was right.
