We were on our way home from Florida , tired and stopped in Lake City for the night.. The other hotels/motels looked horrible so we were apprehensive about this one ...there were no cars there and it looked desolate ..but we were just early..5:30-6. Later there were a lot more tired travelers.
I noticed that the grounds were well looked after, including the pool area that was meticulously tucked away for the winter. I pulled out my trusty Kindle and looked for reviews on TRIP ADVISER..I saw "clean" in many views and we decided to stop for the night.
The reception area was clean and nice and the lady behind the desk was very sweet and welcoming , seems like she sensed we were exhausted. Because it was off season the price with tax was about 74.dollars.
When we entered the room , it smelled clean and fresh. and everything was clean and fresh. I liked the pictures on the wall..I know, I guess not important but ,..added a nice little extra touch. Oh yes there was a little fridge and a microwave.
There was a gas station near and a few food places and of course a Cracker Barrel , where we had supper.
Had a restful sleep and a nice breakfast at the office area. It was spacious with individual little tables and chairs.
Glad we stopped here:)

Stayed 3 nights, on 2nd night after boating for over 8hours. went back to the hotel,No hot water for a shower.( water heater went out ) told front desk, said everyone without hot water. went to bed without a shower in hopes of getting one the next day. no good was told still out. left the next day without a shower. drove 5 hours home ,without a shower for 2 days after boating for over 8 hours. How would you feel??

Usually I stay here because I have to come to Lake City two times a year. I usually leave after work and get there in the wee hours in the morning. I always know they're going to be open. It's right off the highway. It's close to where I need to be.

I won't get carried away. It is what it is: an inexpensive little hotel by the side of the road with little or no frills.

But it's clean enough. It's not seedy. It's never loud and unruly. Nothing weird ever happens. It's just a quiet little place to crash for the night before another long drive in the morning. I'm familiar with it. The employees are polite. They're not nosey and watching you walk away right up to your room like you're a madman showing up in the night. You get your key. You go to your room. You wash up. You turn on the TV. And you fall asleep. It's quiet. That's about all I ask.

The breakfast is nothing special, but it's clean and served in a decent little room. It's not bad. It's just not spectacular. Kind of like everything else about this hotel. It is what it is.

If have have two knocks it is this:

1. The water tends to change temperature on occasion when you're in the shower.
2. While they say they have free high speed internet, it usually barely works or goes at tortoise-like speeds. It's more like free, sort of, sometimes internet.

Inexpensive, clean, quiet, and comfortable. Great complimentary breakfast too!
