We liked the Oliver Hotel and their location is undeniably convenient to everything in downtown. The bed was very comfortable and the linens soft. We did have trouble sleeping because our room was directly over the new bar and we could hear the music very clearly - no people talking or laughing, just the music. The staff assured me that they are working on addressing the issue. So, we will give them another try when we visit Knoxville again!

We stayed two nights in this very charming hotel. It was in an awesome location. We could walk anywhere downtown. The rooms were a little small compared to some hotels, but I liked the coziness. There wasn't a breakfast but there was an excellent cafe right around the corner. I would love to stay here again.

The rooms are gorgeous. Colors, furniture and bed linens are all first class. The room was very clean. We had 4 adults in a two room suite. The couple on the sofa bed slept well. The king size bed was very luxurious. Bathroom was very large, two sinks and a walk in glass shower large enough for 4 people. Staff were very kind and helpful. They made-up the sofa bed and had ice in the room when I arrived. When I asked for more coffee it was there in minutes. The new bar is fun. Decorated like a library, leather sofas, coffee tables with World Book encyclopedia. The drink menu was in the first few pages of the books. Specialty drinks are named after book characters

While the downtown location of the Oliver Hotel is convenient, be aware that the new "Speakeasy" on the first floor plays LOUD music until 2 a.m. There is no soundproofing for the rooms directly above -- a problem that the staff seemed aware of but nothing has been done to correct it. It is inexcusable to charge so much for a room that someone cannot sleep in.
