Just returned from our trip to Knoxville and was very disappointed in the Days Inn on Asheville Highway in Knoxville, TN.
The room was booked at a "group rate" which was higher than the average daily rate.
In addition, the hotel accommodations were bad. Check-in was at 2:00pm and we arrived at 2:40pm with the rooms not yet cleaned and ready for guests. When the room was made available to us we found ants crawling on the vanity in the bathroom and also in the bed. There were cigarette butts and soap left in the shower from the previous guest.
The television did not have clear reception, you could barely make out the channels. One light socket was not even mounted in the wall, it was hanging freely.
The reservation was made for four people in the room, two towels were provided.
The hotel did not prepare for adequate continental breakfast for the capacity of the hotel. The breakfast was gone within five minutes which was supposed to be available for two hours in the morning.
The high speed internet connection that is available is actually one line located in the lobby of the hotel. It is not available in the rooms.

Hello and me and my family stayed in this hotel....We got there about 3:30 a.m. on Tue....they would not give up a late check out....still had to be out by noon......we had 3 children with us ages 3-5-6-,,they were tired hot and dirty.......went to give them a bath and there were used wash clothes in the tub.......still wet......the middle child opened the night stand drawer and found about 85 cents and some little seeds too.....not the kind you would want to plant........plus we found parts to a water pipe.....we dumped the seeds into the toliet and we found more in the chest of drawers......this did not set too well for us.......plus the pool had an odor to it......it was not worth th $79.00 they charged for this room.....not clean and unsafe......avoid at all cost......should have just slept in the car......

TERRIBLE, Bad part of Knoxville to be in alone at night.
The rooms reaked. This is a bad part of town. It was like a seedy slum motel out of a B-movie. They have the junkies and hookers, there. AWFUL.

Me, my husband, and brother spent there the 4th of July weekend in 2004. Staff was nice, and housekeeping was great: the room was cleaned very well every day. The major disadvantage and the reason I wouldn't go back there is that the humidity inside was about the same as outside, even though ac was working. The walls were moist, and towels and bathing suits wouldn't dry during the night. Also a continuous rattle, I think there were cicadas all around, was disturbing at nights.
