“Yuck!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 April 2005

I confirm every comment made by the previous "Yuck"! Stayed here while moving our daughter in for her freshman year- because it is so near the campus. When we arrived our daughter had already arrived and checked in with her friend (who was also a freshman moving to dorm). They had turned the bed spread and sheet back to get into bed and found several roaches running around in the bed. The entire room and hotel smells awful! like pee and mildew. No other rooms were available there and they would not make an adjustment to the cost!
It is really a shame this place is so run down, in view of it's convienent location to the campus! We are going to Knoxville this weekend for an event with our daughter's sorority- but would not even consider staying at this trashed place! Beware!

If the owners would gut it and replace everything it would be a real great location to stay!

“Average hotel.”

The room show some wear and tear. Everything is kept clean though hallways and rooms show age and heavy use. The lobby is new and modern, which the rooms and hallways are not. Breakfast includes waffles and fresh fruit as well as general cerial, coffee, and doughnuts. The rate was a little pricy, but what would i expect for something being on campus. The price didnt reflect the accomidations, but more over the location. The staff was friendly, helpfull, and plesent.

Ok hotel. Stayed during summer months and got a great rate. Staff was helpful and room clean. Parking provided in a location where parking can be a real pain. Literally on the UT campus and very close to downtown. Good restaurants and bars in the area. Copper Kettle is pretty nice. Don't expect too much from this hotel and you won't be disappointed. If you're looking for something nicer, stay downtown.

“YUCK!”

This hotel officially holds the award for grossest hotel ever! The rooms wreaked of urine, the bathtubs were moldy, the ceilings were falling off in the hallway and some of the rooms. The beds are stained with what we can only assume is pee and blood, but the blankets wreaked of pee. In the hallway there were beer cans in the light fixtures all week long. Some of the rooms don't have door numbers, instead, where the numbers are usually posted there are numbers written on the wall in pencil. In one of the rooms the water faucet isn't labeled with hot and cold, instead it is labeled on the wall with a magic marker. On the plus side, it was the one of the friendliest staffs I have ever met and if you spend your entire stay in the lobby it couldn't be more enjoyable. It is right off downtown so it's very close to restaraunts and shops, as well as the campus.

“Better-than-Average Days Inn--Really Convenient to UT”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 March 2004

This Days Inn is the most convenient hotel to the UT campus. I've stayed there 5 times in the past year. It is 1 block from the UT library, 3 blocks to stadium. No need to drive, everything, including lots of restaurants, shops, bars, is within walking distance. Security guard on duty. Underground parking. Lobby area is attractive and large.
Continental breakfast has waffles, pastries, cereals, fruit. Rooms are clean and standard motel-type. Typical noisy window AC/Heat. Some rooms show wear from heavy use. Staff has always been pleasant and accomodating. Inexpensive. Great deal if you just need a place to stay close to campus. Not fancy--no pool, no weight room or that kind of thing.
