“Great value!”

I was greatly surprised by how nice this hotel was. We stayed at an Extended StayAmerica in Dublin, OH last year and did not have a great experience, so I was a little nervous when the ESA popped up as my winning hotel on my Priceline bid. The going rate for two guests was $60/night plus tax during our visit, so $50/night including tax was pretty good.

We checked in around 8 pm and the woman in the office was very friendly. She explained the phone system & had us fill out paperwork before giving us our keys and showing us where the vending & laundry was. We had room 130, toward the end of the building on the side not facing I-40. It was very quiet, especially for being so close to a major interstate.

The room itself was well taken care of. The mattress was a little firm, but obviously not as old as the hotel (it's 10 years old). The linens were in good shape. The standard studio comes with a queen bed, an armchair, a dresser w/a TV on top that can swivel, a small dining table, kitchenette with two burners, refrigerator & microwave as well as a small bathroom. Everything was in good shape & in working order. Like most ESAs, the kitchen was fully stocked to serve a meal for two people, though we never used anything but the fridge.

Cedar Bluff is a nice area; there are a ton of hotels in the area, and most looked very well taken care of. There are several restaurants along the same road as the ESA and a small shopping center down the street. ESA shares a driveway with three Marriott properties (a Courtyard, a TownePlace Suites & a Residence Inn), so it seems like a nice, safe area.

For a short visit, it was a great deal and I wouldn't hesitate to go back. If I was going to have to spend a long visit there (14 days or more, like many ESA guests), I would probably stay at another extended stay facility to have extra room. It's a fairly small space, and with only one arm chair, it would feel cramped if you had more than one person in it often. I would try a TownePlace Suites if you'd want to entertain a lot or feel claustrophobic easily.

“Another Great Room at Extended Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 June 2007

I was one again pleased with another Extended StayAmerica Hotel. The staff was very courteous as well as very accomadating when needed.

The room was in great condition, the bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was very clean and well maintained.

I never had any trouble with noise or other people staying at the hotel. Everyone was nice and very courteous.

The hotel is in a great location, easy to get too and centrally located.

If you do not mind doors that open to the outside instead of inside hallway, you will like this hotel. It is also very nice if you plan on staying at least a week or even a nite.

  • Liked — location and the staff
  • Disliked — the bathroom

“A nice place, but get a room in front”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 April 2007

I liked this place overall. The big flaw is that it is right next to Interstate 40, so try to get there early in the day to make sure you get a room in the front of the hotel to avoid that noise. The rooms are typical of Extended Stay properties, with the room containing a kitchenette with dishes and utensils. I could not hear any plumbing noise from other rooms, and they seemed to be well insulated. Extended Stay only does housekeeping once a week, but you can take towels to the front desk and exchange them if needed. They had wireless internet in the room (at a cost of $4.99 that covers the entire length of your stay) and cable TV with most channels. I found the bed and pillows to be very comfortable; not too soft or too hard. The location is OK, only being a couple of miles from all sorts of restaurants and shopping. The staff was very pleasant.

  • Liked — The value is good
  • Disliked — Noise from Interstate 40 in the rear of the building
