“Perfect for weary travelers and pet lovers!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

My wife and I stayed here when passing through to the coast, The manager on duty, Rosa was friendly and greeted us with a warm welcome. We travel with a westie and the pet policy is fair (20.00 a night) but more importantly, they don't make you feel your traveling with a burden. Some hotels stick you in smoking rooms for having a pet while others charge you a huge fee!!!!....but that's another review... The Quality Inn East in Knoxville is an older yet clean facility with friendly personel and comfortable rooms at a decent rate.
The breakfast is nothing fancy, yet does the job. after all, this not a food review. All kidding aside. the food was good, the staff friendly and the rooms clean and comfortable. Good Value for the dollar!!!

“Anything BUT "Quality"”

Where to start?!? Wife and I stayed 2 nights while we visited sights in Knoxville. Afraid we were unable to find other lodging on the holiday weekend we stayed, but NOT impressed. There was some sort of "dried liquid" stains on the bed ruffle and we asked them to change it. They didn't have any spares! There were numerous stains on the comforter (not the spread) and we asked them to change that. Seems they had to launder one but it got replaced in a few hours. The carpet had dried, smashed candy stuck in it. The shower head dripped and was stuck in one mode. We came to breakfast with an hour left in the "serving time" to find 1 bagel, 3 mini doughnuts and half a bowl of bran cereal left. They were OUT of juice, milk, pastries, fruit, other cereal and jelly. The waffle maker spit out some sort of half cooked ooz stuff, and the teenage staff had no idea how to fix that or get more supplies. The next morning, I went early to breakfast, in hopes the day before was just a fluke. NOPE- still no food and this time they were out of "waffle oooz mix" too.
I tried to reach "Dax" who was the "manager on duty" according to the sign each day. It seems that Dax is actually the Indian owner of the place, but he is never really "on duty"! One of the young and unhappy employees explained, "This is his second job, and he doesn't find running a hotel as important as his first job".
To top this all off...I tried addressing my displeasure with someone at Quality corporate or Choice Hotels Inc. NEITHER has a human I could reach to complain, but was told to Email my issues and they would respond within 72 hours. I have given them 5 days and no reply. So here I am-just saying to the world....we will sleep IN THE CAR, UNDER A BRIDGE, SURROUNDED BY TROLLS before our family ever gives another penny to Quality Inn motels!

“Great Value - Very Suprised”

We ended up staying here one night unfortunately...this was a nice hotel got a coupon out of hotel coupon magazine at rest stop, kind of scared to stay but pleasantly surprised. This hotel must have been recently remodeled. Room was very clean, hallways were very clean. Linen want nice and clean. Hotel staff on duty (young man) was very nice and gave us great advise about a very good restraurant.

“Quality shouldnt be in their name at all”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 March 2011

My daughter and I stayed at this hotel, only due to the fact that it was one night, each direction of our trip - mind you I used choice hotels and thought this one would be ok, better then motel 6...sadly not. First, the beds are so old, you SINK into them, leaving me with a tremedous back ache. They do NOT have wireless, you have to be "corded", which isnt what was advertised in their description. The bathroom was nasty, the blanket at one time might have been nice, but like the mattress, old and flat, it was one of those cheap fiber filled ones made to appear like down. The way back, I left my ipod, accidently and by all means my fault, but the hotel is not honest about this and I am sure they found it and scored it for themselves. Sadly, the coffee is nasty, the breakfast is nasty and the place just needs total rehaul! Also, beware, they rent their rooms to very seedy types, usually on the back side of the hotel
