On our way home to North Carolina we stopped at what seemed to be a decent motel. It was, after all, a Days Inn and had to live up to certain corporate standards...or so we thought! We had visited a Motel 6 next door just earlier and had requested a visual inspection of one of the rooms. Decent enough, but we still had suspicions of the old motel, so we went over to the Days Inn.

We should have left the second the manager refused to let us peer inside one of their rooms. Anyhow, the room we were given had peeling wallpaper, moldy carpet, stained sheets and a non-functional bathroom light. Demanding our money back produced no results, so they simply handed keys to a different room, this time (probably out of spite) in the very back of the property in an empty and dimly-lit parking lot two doors down from a homeless family whose goods were strewn on the balcony outside their room.

Even though this room's interior was far better than the first, it still seemed subpar to Days Inn standards. We discovered much better motels the next exit eastbound on I-40 the next morning. At all cost, AVOID this dump!

Yesterday I spent the night at this property. The first room we were in had a broken toilet so we were moved to another room. This room was disgusting and I wouldn't have stayed if I would have looked in the shower before I went to bed. There was mold in the shower and on the shower curtain. The sink had no stopper. The towels were not hung properly and we called fore new towels. The chair in the sleeping area was stained as were the curtains. The carpet was splotchy. There was dust on the head boards, alarm clock, and entertainment center. I could see dust lines where other guests had touched the top of the entertainment center. The sheets and pillowcases seemed to be clean. The best thing I can say about this visit is that the bed was sleepable and the pillows were soft.

I have never stayed anywhere that was so nasty! We were visiting a family member at the hospital and wanted to stay really close. When we initally checked in things didn't seem too bad but we didn't take a close enough look around. It was extremely late and that is the only reason that we didn't leave. The matresses stunk, the bedding was stained with what looked like blood and the bathroom...well there are no words that can properly describe it! Since we were traveling with a young child, we had brought extra blankets, pillows, etc. We had to strip the bed of everything but the sheets and slept on top of our own blankets and pillows. Plus we used our son's wash cloths just to wash our faces and decided since were we heading home the next morning that we wouldn't even dare try to use their shower! This place should be condemed. There are other hotels by the shopping area (which we discovered the next morning!) I would pay anything not to have to stay there again!

This Days Inn is so badly worn that I cannot recommend it at all.
The toilet seat was peeling, the floor had holes in it. The check in lady was surly and refused to let me have trip reward points because I was using a discounted rate. (First time that's happened to me at a Days Inn!)
