Stayed there as our overnight stop on our way home from Florida to Ohio. Called a head during the drive to make the reservations. Was a busy travel weekend for many apparently and they were mostly full- not their fault. But I did call the local desk myself to ask a couple of questions. No handicap accessible rooms were left, so I wanted to findout exactly what was left. The girl that answered the phone was curt, at best. She seemed to have an attitude that since they were almost sold out for the night, she didn't need to be talking to me. I was on the phone maybe 3 minutes, seems like she could've answered my questions in a friendly manner.
We settled on a king bed room, I was travelling with my daughter. Would've preferred 2 beds, but again, not their fault. The room was SMALL and crammed with a desk/chair, king bed, sofa that pulled out another bed, a piece of furniture with TV on top. There was barely room to walk around. I slept on the left side of the king bed and had about 12" of room between the bed and the wall to walk, when I got to the foot of the bed, I had to contend with about 8" of room between the end of the bed and the sofa. Had the sofa bed been pulled out, I could not have gotten out of the bed at all unless I crawled over the other person sleeping in the bed. So the room was very small and overly furnished.
There was whirlpool tub, which I could've cared less about, and the lady forgot to mention when I made the reservations that the shower was located inside the tub, not a separate stand-alone shower unit. Therefore I was unable to shower the next morning as the sides of the whirlpool tub were quite high and I have limited mobility.
The vent cover on the a/c unit that directs the air into the room instead of under the curtains was not securely fastened and knocked about noisily until we devised a system of putting various personal belongings (my heavy purse, for one) on top of it so it would quit knocking. In a way the knocking would've helped as the hotel backs up onto a very busy stretch of I-40/I-75 and the traffic noise was unbelievable all night long.
No included breakfast and for the price to stay, that is a rip off.

Thank you for visiting our Courtyard by Marriott and for providing valuable feedback and comments.
The service you experienced when calling in to make your reservation is very unlike our staff and not up to the high standards that we set at Courtyard by Marriott. Our Front Desk Team prides themselves in their friendliness, and is currently ranked in the Top 50 of the 792 Courtyard in the world. I have shared your comments with our front desk associates so we can ensure everyone is striving to maintain our committment to excellence.
We are very sorry that we did not have an accessible room available, and that you were uncomfortable with the room/furniture layout. Our hotel engineering team has been alerted about the vent cover on the a/c unit, and we are making sure to continuously check those as part of our preventative maintenance program for the benefit of future guests.
The Courtyard by Marriott provides a full hot breakfast with several eggs-cooked-to-order options, speciality omelettes & burritos, fresh cut fruit, and belgium waffles in addition to all of the regular breakfast offerings at other hotels. Due to the extra offerings and more personalized service, the Courtyard Brand does not include breakfast with our room rate.
I hope you will allow us an opportunity to regain your confidence should your travels bring you through Knoxville in the future. Please contact me directly and I will personally ensure you receive the highest level of service and accommodations we pride ourselves in providing.
Sincerely,
Amy Green
