One star is too good for this sleaze bag of a no-tell motel!
My husband and I were recently guests of the Knoxville Super 8. We were not in our hotel room 10 minutes when I was forced to look below the bed, to retrieve my dropped earring. The pornographic materials and other filth I found there were enough to make my head spin! While I waited for my husband to return from the vending area, I pulled back the sheets and looked for other signs of duress.
My husband finally returned, and managed to calm me down enough to convince me we needed to call the front desk. For the next several minutes we tried without success to reach a hotel employee. None of our 5 or more calls were answered, so we grabbed our bags and drove to the desk.
The situation we found in and around the hotel office was even more disturbing than the one in the room. Rather than being stationed behind the desk, or anywhere in the facility, we found the only attendant outside in a parked gray car. When he saw us enter the office, he rushed to follow behind without even taking the time to button his shirt.
We told him we were leaving and without asking why, he simply said we couldn’t have our money back. He ordered us to call the manager in the am, and continued arguing with us about whether it was wrong to have pornography in the room, and whether or not there was a CEO of Super 8 Motels. We eventually walked out.
The next day, I called the manager as instructed. This "kind" gentleman refused my call, but left a message that since I had used the room, I would be charged in full! The issue is currently under dispute with Super 8 management.
After having the manager, whom I was told to call, refuse to speak with me, I contacted Super 8 customer service. Rather than emphasizing with me, or offering to assist me, the operator told me she was opening a file, and I would hear from the company within 7 business days. I'm waiting, but not holding my breath.
