“Unexpected”

On our first stay, everything went well. However, in the return trip, we had a little longer stay the next morning. While having breakfast in the eating area, the staff were standing just outside the front door smoking which ruined our breakfast. Also, after finishing their smoke, they came into the breakfast area. If the guests and staff need a smoke, there should be a designated area away from the other guests other than just outside the front door. Also, they should consider putting an awning up for the guest when it is raining.

First of all, let me thank you for staying with us. We are never happy to hear that a guest was anything less than 100% satisfied. We work hard to maintain a well-functioning hotel with a friendly and helpful desk staff, clean rooms, and great breakfast. Please know that we share all of our reviews, positive and negative, with our entire staff. Your comments will be addressed with every member of staff we can specifically identify, and read to each department in our regular meetings. We do not take these reviews lightly, and I assure you that I will personally address your feedback with each department manager and require their appropriate followup. We have a designated breakfast area for employees to use, and I am very dissapointed to hear they failed to follow proper procedures. Again, I truly apologize and hope that sometime in the future you will give us another opportunity to regain your trust. Thank you again for taking the time to let us know about your experience.

“Very nice hotel, very reasonable, away from traffic”

I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times on business. Jackson is known for it's horrendous choice of hotels. Generally, the hotels are very bad or very expensive. The Jameson is a very clean, quiet hotel with good rooms and an above average free breakfast. The room rate is excellent. Rooms are good sized and comfortable.

It has an outside pool and fitness center; staff has been helpful on both of my trips. Good internet speed also.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the interstate. However, the hotel is good even if one isn't available.

“Wonderful service”

On Dec. 28, 2011, we stopped here on our way to Virginia for my mothers funeral. The manager Debbie Miller, was so kind to me in my time of loss and discounted our room and was willing to do anything to help us during our stay. The night clerk, I believe her name was Kelly, was so kind to us the next moring as we started to get ready to leave at 4 in the morning. She allowed us to cook some bagels and even heated us several sauage patties, so we could get on the road for our 12 hours drive yet to home.

I can't not tell you how much it meant to us to be treated that way. We stay at this hotel every summer during our vaction trips and we have always had great service, but on Dec. 28, 2011, Debbie and the staff working that day went above and beyond customer service.

“OK hotel, but I wouldn't choose it next time”

The room was clean,and the TV and the free WiFi worked fine. Front desk staff - both at check in, and the following morning, were excellent. Now for the reasons I rated this htel "average".

To make the room appear bigger, the bathroom is cut on an angle. I am sure they put in the bath and toilet, and then removed as much of the walls as possible - I have never seen a bathroom this small. Even though the sink is outside in the main room, the bathroom is barely usable.

We had two queen beds. The mattresses were pillow top, except on mine the pillow top was on the bottom, and the bottom was facing up. To remind the maids to flip the mattresses (I assume) they were labeled with their months. The mattress I slept on was labeled April, May, June at the top end. This would be great, except I stayed in January, so there is no knowing how long it hadn't been flipped or rotated. I don't care about that, but I did think the idea for the pillow top was for it to face up, not down.

I didn't want to be disturbed in the morning, but there was no "do not disturb sign". I looked absolutely everywhere, but couldn't find one. Luckily, nobody tried to enter my room.

Breakfast was interesting - or rather, boring. Waffles, sausage/biscuits/gravy, some bread and fruit. No eggs, no yogurt, no real protein. There were also three kinds of cereal, and milk. No choice of whole, 2% or fat free - just one kind of unlabeled milk. If you are diabetic or watching what you eat, this breakfast isn't for you.

My stay wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great - there are many better hotels, for a lower rate.

“Jameson at the Jameson”

We found ourselves stranded due to car trouble on New Year's Eve. Our car was towed to a shop next to the Jameson in Jackson, TN. One of the mechanics drove my husband over to check if there was a room available. Jameson was on duty & took wonderful care of us. He got us settled in a room, made sure we asked for the holiday rate, and then offered the names of restaurants within walking distance that would still be open. He greeted us again on our way back and called in a bit to make sure the room was alright. When we were told our car would be ready about noon on Monday, he gave us late checkout so we didn't have to sit in the lobby too long. Everyone was very nice, but Jameson will always stand out as our New Year's Eve rescuer.
