I reviewed this hotel negatively some months ago, and management responded quickly and positively, and also followed up afterwards to make sure I was satisfied, so we decided to give it another try.Those warm chocolate chip cookies they hand you at check-in are also almost impossible to resist!

The experience was much improved this time around so obviously management takes these reviews seriously. We booked a double queen bed room on the Executive floor. The Lounge is open in the evenings and mornings and the snacks they offered were tasty and welcome. The room was very comfortable with good bedding, although the pillows are foam and not as luxe as other Doubletree properties. Room cleanliness was probably a 6 on a scale of 1-10 and only because the room wasn't very well vacuumed. We ordered room service again (tired) and they dropped the corn chowder from the menu (bring it back!!) and the corn bread and rolls were not as fresh as they could have been.

It's very convenient off the Interstate and will stay here again.

Conveniently located right off the freeway.
Great water pressure & temp in shower.
Towels have softest cotton.
Beds extremely comfortable; great pillows.
Room did not cool down well; opened window- that helped with the breeze.
A/C was loud all night and seemed to be overworked for the little it put out.
Bathroom extremely nice.
42" LCD tv in room.
Complementary Wifi in room was quick.
Nice room decor and color scheme.
Friendly staff.
Great Military discount. Front desk offered AAA discount suggestion which was nice.
Service at restaurant is extremely slow, ESP for on-the-go travelers.
The usual Doubletree cookies are always a plus.

This Doubletree ranks up there with the best out there for this type of property. They promptely welcomed me and offered a warm, delicious chocolate chip cookie. Nice and gooey. I wanted another but did not give in. I bet they would give me as many as I wanted. They promptly acknowledged my Hilton Honors status and explained all the available benefits offered to me at my level. This property has all the usual nice Double Tree features, like nice bed, desk and chair, shower, refrigerator, etc. Check the Double Tree website for all the extras because they have them all. They have a Hilton Honors floor and Gold and up go to the Executive lounge for a complimentary reception and breakfast, eggs, nice coffee, pastries, juices, snacks, yougart, etc The restaurant in the lobby looked nice as do most Hilton properties and the pool had both indoor and outdoor sections where you could swim through an opening to go to either side. The had a Precor fitness equipment room with all you need for a few nights. This hotel works nicely and you only have to go 2 blocks from I-40. I will return when in the area for play or work. All staff seemed very respectable at all times and made my time quite nice. The hotel did have a security officer in the lobby at night, though I do not really see any reason for them, however, this makes the hotel that much better.

What are they thinking. I needed a pretty lady to feed me grapes while I Lay in my clean bed in my clean room! The other people on here that left bad reviews are being too snobby! I have stayed in 5 star hotels as well as some 0 star ones! (Thank you US Army)

I was given a warm chocolate chip cookie at check in and the desk clerks were helpful and nice. The cookies are among the best I've ever had even though it had nuts in it. Next time I'm going to ask for two cookies since I'm staying two nights. Mint on the pillow and two bottles of free water in the fridge.

The room was clean and cozy. Room was clean not perfect an object left in a weird spot. Room 304 on top of the shower curtain rod on the left side behind the door a wash cloth. It wasn't mine! The toilet also ran all night but I couldn't hear it in the bedroom area. Shower head was great and water was as hot as I could stand it.

I had a bad experience in Las Vegas with bed bugs in a four star hotel so I check everywhere for those things. I won't stay somewhere I don't consider almost perfect anymore. I was up in the ceiling corners, behind the pictures, behind the mirrors, between the matresses and even under the bed skirt in the room looking. No signs of those little buggers anywhere. Thank you.

There was no musty smell as was reported by another reviewer.

In room dining menu needs to be changed out.

The hotel is not the quietest but it definently is not as bad as others I've been to. You can't really control other guests.

The hotel is also easy to get to. The reviewer that reported that must not be a good driver or doesn't know how to read a map.

I haven't tried Twist yet but I plan on it. I will be staying there in three weeks. I already made my reservation when I was checking out for two nights. Easy and future reservation already confirmed by email when I got home.

I will post an update after my next stay. Until then take it from a US Army soldier who has slept in some really bad as well as some excellent places. I do not sleep in dirt unless ordered to anymore. I have been at their local competitors hotels and for the money you will find no better in the area.
