My family and I have learned to look for Holiday Inn Express Hotels when we travel because they are typically very clean and offer great amenities and a good breakfast, which is especially great when you have children! However, this location was quite a disappointment. First of all, the clerk was a doorknob...he barely spoke to us when we came in and we asked for some suggestions on a place to eat dinner. He said he had never eaten at the Loretta Lynn Restaurant which shares the paking lot with the hotel. In fact, he said he didn't know anywhere good to eat. Ummm.....thanks! The hotel was not clean and it was pretty run down for what seemed to be a pretty new hotel. Our room was very muggy and smelled stale. Also, we really did find out that there is not one good place to eat . All of the restaurants in the area were pretty scary looking. We had to go 16 miles to find a Sonic that looked decent. You are better off stopping closer to Nashville if or Jackson, TN.

Clean room, comfortable bed, nice breakfast, and friendly staff. I would stay again if I am in the area.

We were travelling through TN and chose this hotel for an overnight stop. We arrived late at night and were very tired. We had requested a non-smoking room and when we got to our room (# 107) we were met by a overwhelming odor. At first we just thought it was a stale covered up smoke odor--only after we had our things unpacked and were ready for bed did--we realized the smell was musty damp smell. Everything in the room was damp wet--the floor, the bed--everything. When we got to the room the air conditioner was not going--only the fan--which was drawing in the damp outside air. I am sure the room had not been used all week--as we stayed on a Friday night--and the fan had been running all week. When I mentioned it at the front desk the next morn--I was told they had been trying to tell the maids not to leave the fans running--so it leads me to beleive they have had this situation before and have done nothing to remedy it.
Just beware if you stay here and check out the room well before you stay here. I would not stay here again.

We stayed in this hotel as we were traveling through on vacation. The location was convenient to the highway. The hotel is a little older, yet the interior seems to have had a recent update. Everything was new - carpet,furnishings, etc. The room interior smelled of new paint-not bad, just noticed. The room was very clean. The breakfast was well stocked and good variety. I can not think of anything negative in my experience here. I think the young man who checked us in was a bit too neutral in his enthusiasm for his job. He was not rude, but I don't think he had the skills or training in warm fuzzy customer relations. He was just there to check in people and give them their keys. I would recommend this hotel to anyone needing a clean comfortable place to stay.
Oh, the Loretta Lynn kitchen next door was convenient, but honestly not the best food I have ever eaten. We had high expectations that it was going to be wonderful, and found it to be mediocre at best. Somewhat a disappointment-my husband had wished we had just stopped at the Cracker Barrell. Better food and a lot cheaper.
