Bring Your Own Entertainment, and then be pampered. I had the extreme pleasure of staying here this past weekend. While I live in the same town as this hotel, I managed to feel as if I was on vacation. Even though I have amenities at hand, and no questions to be asked about what the town offers, the staff were extremely helpful and polite during my initial calls before my arrival about hotel offerings, and strived from the very first phone call to checkout to make sure I felt at home. And, they succeeded. This property has struggled having been two other entities prior, but the quality you'd expect from the Hyatt family of hotels is evident. Though the rooms aren't as thoughtfully laid out as you'd expect, Hyatt has transformed them into comfortable and contemporary settings, working with what they had available. The king room was overshadowed by a large screen LG TV, which swiveled on its base to accommodate your viewing pleasure from either the separate sitting area, to relaxing in bed. No fault of the Hyatt, most of the movies offered for viewing were a hefty $18.99, which is outlandish, yet a simple trip back to my home yielded a portable DVD player and a myriad of personal DVD selections. After plugging the unit in to a simple side panel well equipped for even game consoles, a one touch button brought hours of entertainment. Generous 24 hours snacks are also available with a simple phone call, or from an easy touch screen off the lobby near the kitchens. The star of this show is the staff, just barely eclipsed from the obvious limitations they had to work with, to make it your choice to stay outside of Music City.
