I stayed here for 9 nights in September 2010 for a business trip. I am a Platinum Marriott member, and do not normally like staying in Residence Inns because there are no perks for Platinum members, but stayed here this time because I was traveling with someone who likes Residence Inns. I have ended up staying in Residence the last four months, and this one was especially dumpy. When I checked in, they did not have my reservation, but luckily I had a printed copy on hand. Supposedly, this hotel was recently renovated, but I think that must meant the reupholstered the living room furniture and put a flatscreen in the living room. I had bugs in the kitchen, the sheets were worn and stained, no comforters on the bed (but this is standard RI), there were no hangers in the closet, and the rooms are poorly insulated. Every night I was woken up by a train going by, every time I stepped into the hallway I could hear the rooms around me tvs (so i'm sure that they could hear mine, as well as the phone conversations that I had at the desk near the door), and I could always smell the people next to me cooking dinners that smelled like a sewage treatment plant. In addition, about halfway through the trip I came home to a large wet stain in the living room floor, and still don't know what that was from. If you exercise - no luck, this place has the worst fitness center I have ever seen. I guess the people who left reviews before me have low hotel standards, but I would recommend the nearby Courtyard in Collierville - it is connected to a mall and brand new. I tried to move over there during my trip, but it was unavailabe (even though they are supposed to be able to offer me a room anytime as a Platinum member). Besides that hotel, there are plenty of other options nearby.
