I rarely review or offer advice to other travelers on hotels, restaurants or other venues, since what is bad for me may be alright with others. The Homestead Suites in Franklin is the exception. My wife and I along with two of our employees stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks. We did not have an option as the company was paying for our lodging. Otherwise I would have bolted the very first night.
The cleanliness of the all three rooms what horrible. Dead cockroaches between the glass and the picture on the wall was our first clue that we were in for a bad experience. Follow that with hairs all over the walls in our rooms two bathrooms, mold on the tiles, floors and all around the kitchen area was the second. Bugs flying all over the room and spider webs on everything. We called and had to pay for a cleaning, as this hotel only cleans your rooms after a 7 night stay. They cleaned the room. Once the maid was done, we still found layers of dust on the headboard of the bed, on the dressers, on top of the refrigerator and there was still hair in the tubs. The following day I contacted the manager and expressed my displeasure. I told him he had exactly 12 hours to get our rooms cleaned, or I would video everything I found wrong in the room and send it to his corporate office and post it on the web. So in came the army of cleaners, they actually, for the first time in quite a while, shampooed the carpet, replaced all the linens with BRAND NEW linens and blankets, Cleaned the filters in the AC systems and the bathroom vents.
The room is now livable, but after speaking with others from my group, they had the same experience in their rooms. So buyer/renter beware. I will never stay at a Homestead Suites hotel again. No matter what

The hotel was in a wonderful location. The rooms were really nice and well layed out. I loved having the living area and kitchen together and the beds in a different room. They really need to improve on the cleanliness and they also need to only have a certain amount of rooms that allow pets. They allow pets in all rooms and I really didn't like that. Not everyone likes sleeping with animals.

Generally speaking, this hotel is not clean. It's old and the rooms are not well taken care of. They couldn't spend more than 3 minutes cleaning them between guests. Dirt and dust is in every corner and we questioned touching anything. With no rooms available anywhere else, we did our best to spend as much time away from the hotel as possible.
The office opened 25 minutes late on the day we needed to check out, causing a great inconvenience to us. Our reservation was wrong -- they had us checking out on the wrong day and they gave us 2 full beds instead of the promised king and queen sofa bed.
I don't know what this hotel is doing in such a nice area. I do NOT recommend staying there.

I visited briefly (overnight) for an interview yesterday.

The stay was positive, efficient and problem free. Check in and check out was simple and quick. The staff was polite and helpful. The room was clean and nicely equipped for a longer stay. The location is tucked right beside Bakers Bridge, which leads directly into the heart of Cool Springs. Whole Foods and countless other stores are easily accessible.

Lastly....no unpleasant surprise fees or negativity to shadow the experience. I look forward to returning for a longer stay.
