“Absolutely beautiful in every way!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2010

We were married at the Inn in October 2010. There is absolutely nothing that could have been done better. It was the most perfect day! Sherry steered us in all the right directions, from the chaplin, to the DJ, to the cake/cupcakes it could not have been better. Dwight went above and beyond, cooking us a wonderful reception dinner complete with the fried green tomatoes we wanted. It was all delicious!!! It was not only well run and beautiful it was very economical. My friends put it well when they said the feel they got was one of causal elegance. My husband and I could not have asked for a more gracious and beautiful experience. Thank you Sherry and Dwight, you all are wonderful!!!!

“Great place, great people!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2010

Our "girls getaway" trip to Franklin, Tennessee was wonderful, due, in part, to the hospitality we received at this B & B. Sherry and Dwight were lovely, gracious hosts, their property is beautiful and peaceful, and Dwight is an excellent cook. He served up fabulous southern breakfasts each of the three mornings we were there. Some of our favorites were the freshly baked bread, fresh eggs gathered from the hen house that morning, homemade preserves, baked apples, an assortment of breakfast meats, homemade french toast, blueberry pancakes...I could go on and on. Everything was delicious. Our rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. We had a perfect stay and would recommend to anyone.

“Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2010

I had my wedding here in October 2010 and it was the most beautiful ceremony I could have ever wanted. Not only are the owners genuine and courteous hosts, but the venue is absolutely beautiful in every way. You can't beat the surroundings: rolling pastures, open skies, and beautiful trees are all around the beautiful quaint house! For weddings, they are priced so reasonable and will work with you-whether you want all the bells and whistles or just a beautiful wedding in all of its simplicity. I would recommend this beautiful Bed & Breakfast to anyone...I truly love it here!! I almost wish I didn't live in Middle Tennessee just so I could visit and stay here!!

“ABSOLUTE PERFECTION!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2010

We just returned from a week at the Inn at Walking horse Farm...and it was wonderful! Three siblings, spouses, one niece and spouse gathered in the "hills" of Tennessee and were treated to scrumptious breakfasts and a house that was simply MARVELOUS! Our hosts were a delight...attentive, but not overbearing in the least. If you are looking for true relaxation...this is it!

“WOW ! Weddings are not what they should be doing.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2010

The grounds are a beautiful backdrop of Franklin. The horses throw you off to what you will find in the back of the house for a perfect wedding site. With all that said I would not recommend using this site because of the people running the place. If our experience is any indication on how they treat people I see why the don't get many comments.

Maybe after reading the post around the B&B it is obvious that Dwight and Sherry are not good at the wedding business. I can say that they were the most unorganized people I have ever worked with. They did not have a contract and that was to their advantage because they changed rules at will. I was told that not only could we not bring our on bartender but we had to pay $1.75 for each guest for the set up of the winem along with the cost of $100 per bartenders( they told us we had to have 3). It turns out that Dwight, Sherry and a friend were the bar staff. :) Not to mention the fact that this information was not given to us until 3 weeks out from the wedding. We were told we could not let our vendors come look at the site before the wedding which was odd because I have done other weddings where they did allow them.
In the beginning you work with the wife and if she gets to frazzled because you ask her too many specifics she puts you in touch with Dwight who I found to be the most unprofessional person I have ever come across. I am speaking from my experience. Maybe he picks who he will be nice to but I did not see it nor did my guest. At the rehearsal dinner one of the guest was trying to help clear the table and he was told "We put out 36 plates and that is what we need to get back, that is why we do it ourselves!" Really ? They were everyday glass plates! and it went on from there.

Fortunate for us we did show the Staceys what true class was as we made sure the place was cleaner than we found it. I am not sure what he was use to but it was obvious to me and my family he thought he was getting something else. What was even worse was we invites some people who knew them and they were even surprised at the way they were acting. I must be missing something but they are the ones missing out.

The Inn at Walking Horse Farm is a family owned business. This means my husband and I operate and take responsibility for the weddings held here. For over 13 years, brides seem to appreciate the fact we allow them to customize their weddings according to their preferences and constraints. Unfortunately, the wedding reviewed ran into a financial one. Based on this, we allowed certain last minute adjustments (that most other places won't even consider) in order to accommodate the bride's budget. Every person who has an appointment to see our facility for a possible event is given a price list of packages that include a variety of services, amenities, and policies. One of our policies is that all the vendors for a particular wedding come at one set appointment time. Additionally, a final invoice is given after every bride decides exactly what she wants.
We are upfront with all policies from the first time we meet to avoid surprises. These policies include meeting certain requirements. One of which is the presence of a competent staff. We expect them to take care of the individuals and services necessary for each event. This allows us to take full responsibility without needing our guests to "help".
My husband and I are very conscientious to make every event special. It is this dedication that has helped us enjoy a successful business with over 20 weddings a year for well over a decade. Our dedication to to our brides and their guests make me question how we are "missing out".
