I thought this would be a good motel but it's been poor. We couldn't get a ground floor room because I hadn't requested it - I should have done, I'm on crutches. Well, I can't fault them if they have no first floor rooms but what happened next wasn't good. We were given an upstairs room which seemed OK, except it smelled of mould when the AC was put on. It got worse and the drapes smelled too, being over the unit. After a short while we realised there was no AC just barely cool air, in spite of fiddling with the inaccurate switches: 'off' wasn't off etc. We spoke to Reception who came up and agreed. He moved us to a first floor with king bed and rollaway for our 6' 2" son. We went to move the armchair in the room and found a hand towel covered with pale yellow crusty something in the centre (I'll leave you to hazard a guess as to what that was) and a nearly full bottle of Margarita, behind it. Ugh! Our son had found the towel so he threw it outside and washed his hands thoroughly and we put the bottle in the trash can outside. When I told the guy at Reception, he just said that they have excellent housekeeping staff which clean 10 rooms an hour. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom OK. At least the second room didn't smell of mould. Breakfast is cereal, coffee, pretend juice and breads which was OK. Not the pretend juice, that's horrible. Pity we were here for 2 nights, we rarely stay that long in any motel but we certainly won't be staying again on any road trip.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for choosing Days Inn Franklin Nashville for your recent stay in our area. I am sorry you weren’t able to get a room on the first floor, I too use crutches so I know the challenge you met up with.
Thank you for giving us a review, it is very much appreciated. Upon receipt of your review, the following steps were taken:
• Housekeeping received additional training in the level of cleanliness required of them as our employees. They were reminded that quality is more important than quanity.
• Breakfast staff was approached about the possibility of replacing what you referred to as pretend juice with something that tastes better.
I hope that you will reconsider your decision not to stay at Days Inn Franklin Nashville again. We take our guests’ reviews seriously and I think you would be greatly pleased.
Sincerely,
Hotel Manager.
