Recently, my wife and I had to travel to Etowah for a few days. My situation is somewhat unusual, I am an above the knee amputee, so I have to be particularly explicit about the rooms requirements when I make reservations. The agent who I talked to was told that I needed a Handicapped friendly room, with an accessible bathroom, that I needed a handicap shower, and enough room for my wheelchair to maneuver where ever in the room I needed to go.

The bathroom was so narrow, I couldn't turn around, couldn't close the door, had to use a walker to get to the skinny walk in showed with a 4 inch lip at the entry, there was no shower chair, seat, or rails in the bathroom or shower to help in case of a fall, or balance problem. I was forced to buy a shower chair at a local drug store, an extra $50 expense, as well as a premium for the "superior king room". The fridge didn't work. the room was crowded, including a coffee table that took up too much of the room, wheelchair friendly, it was not, anywhere!!! even the Parking, Handicapped spaces near the desk, room at the far end of the hall, soft carpet in the hall made moving any long way in a wheelchair very difficult.

These issues could have been avoided if good planning in the building and claims of "handicap friendly" were lived up to. This won't happen again!!!!!! Red Roof Inn was misleading in their statements, and unwilling, or incapable, of correcting the issues, so they will not get my business again.

Having stayed at Etowah's Red Roof Inn twice now in the past couple of years, I can say that my expectations are constantly exceeded, year after year, by the fabulous Southern hospitality provided by the hotel's staff and the comfortable and extremely clean amenities. Every member of the staff with whom I communicated was so friendly, thoughtful and kind, and they all made me feel as though I was their guest of honor at the hotel. Kudos to all of them for their hard work and cheery demeanors, and to General Manager Pinal Patel, for running an extremely tight ship.

I wasn't expecting to stay at a hotel on my way to Gatlinburg from my home in Atlanta, however, became extremely tired on the motorcycle so my husband decided to stop since it was late. Soon, we saw this same Red Roof Inn. It looked welcoming from the outside, and when I walked in, the young gentleman was real friendly. We were checked in in less than 3 minutes and I was probably asleep within 10 minutes. The hotel had modern furnishings, and was extremely clean. Everything in the whole place looked new. I will definitely stop in again and stay at this one! Not 1 thing I can think to complain about!!

Not only is the hotel new & clean, the service is impeccable. You'll be lucky to be greeted by Chelsea, a young, intelligent, beautiful girl, who is helpful and resourceful. Her energetic attitude made it a pleasure to stay here. The only thing that could have made the stay better, was if our room was in the lobby.,
