They were "remodeling" and a king was not available. So we looked at a two double bed room. I didn't catch the stale smoke smell and we thought, why not as the previous two nights we spent a little more for comfort in Memphis. So we check in and I said the room needed a box of tissue. He said "sorry, we are out and won't get a delivery until tomorrow!" Why didn't we run then??So we check in and put our things in the room, as I'm in there a little longer I can detect the stale smoke smell. OK, I'll suffer through! Oh, it was snowing pretty good and we really didn't want to look for a good deal. I went in to the bathroom, a switch on the wall didn't work(heat lamp), then I spotted before I sat down-NO TOILET PAPER, NO TOWELS! We went to the office and they apologized, apparently the toilet paper was due on the truck tomorrow too! His wife gave us towels and later I checked and they are two more bath mats and one dingy bath towel. Oh, the one hand towel we did have, should have been in the rag bag as it was thin and my finger could go through it. I might sleep sitting up and forget the shower in the morning! Hopefully the roads will be OK to drive, otherwise we're moving to a different motel for sure. OK, the "I should have known" part was the sign that said monthly prices! I guess I felt like I wanted this young non foreign couple by staying. On the back of the room door was still the Ramada room notice. So I'm thinking they may have bought it and tried to open without being fully ready. Don't stay here unless you want a monthly rate or no other rooms are available!
