Booked this hotel before starting our relocation across country. Husband became ill and we called the Best Western in Jackson, TN in the early afternoon to request a room for our unexpected abbreviated travel day. They said they would contact the Leisure Inn and cancel our reservation for us. Apparently this didn't happen. We assumed it had been taken care of. After reviewing our credit card, I found that the Leisure Inn charged us twice. Once for our original booking and inadvertently someone else's. After explaining our situation, the hotel did take the mistaken charge off. I stay at BW's frequently and cancellation has always been before 4 PM the day of arrival. I didn't take note that the Leisure Inn had a policy of 4 PM 24 hours prior to arrival. Moral of the story, don't assume all Best Western's have the same cancellation policy and certainly don't expect compassion to a traveler's misfortune. I realize the Leisure Inn is a business but I was hoping they would discount the charge as we were travelers who meant well. That counts for nothing.

We loved this hotel. After a bad experience booking a cabin in a nearby city, we found the Best Western and had to stop for the night with two small children. The clerk booked a walk-in room for us and it was very clean. Ask for the middle building as there is no smoking which was important to us. It was quiet and clean and had everything we needed to get a good night's sleep. The breakfast staff was very accomodating and friendly, as well as the maids. I am so glad we literally stumbled across such a gem when we needed a place to stay for the night. The AAA discount brought the price down to about $80 a night.

I come to Crossville twice a year on business. I usually stay somewhere cheap--but since it was Thanksgiving, I decided to treat myself. Upon entering, the Front Desk Clerk acted as if Iwas bothering him to check in. He had to hang up his cel phone, and actually do his job. I checked-in, I asked for directions to my room, and the Front Desk Clerk says, "The hallway right behind you."
I turn around. There's two hallways directly behind me.
"The one on the right or on the left?" I ask.
Front Desk Clerk rolls his eyes. He says sneeringly "There's only one room down the hall on the right." Like I'm supposed to know that? How would I know that?
Then I get to my room. Cleaned spotlessly--except the toilet had been used, and not flushed. I don't complain--what good would it do? FDC would just act like I was bothering him again.
Then when I go to take a shower, there are several black hairs in there. Disgusting.
I picked this hotel, because it had 4 good reviews out of 4. That is almost unheard of. I don't know if those first 4 are fake, or if I just got a first bad impression--but all three problems are true. Next year, when I go back--I'll be avoiding the Best Western.

The air conditioner was adequate, and did not blow directly into my face on the side of bed nearest it.
The curtains above the ac shut completely blocking out all outside light.
Indoor corridors helped keep our room extremely quiet.
Breakfast did consist of a hot plate and started at 6:30 AM.
The hotel had outside security doors which needed a keycard to open.
The pool area was kept clean. It possibly could use a couple more chairs around it. But this was not a major issue.
The ice machine area and washer-dryer area were both kept very clean.
The only downside here was carpeting not kept clean enough. The test I used was walking around barefooted for a few minutes and then taking a shower. The tub showed the dirt which was on my feet.
Two tips: Good food at the Bean Pot restaurant 5 miles east on I40.
Great golf courses nearby. Inquire at desk.
