“excellent for what it is”

My husband and I just returned from a peaceful, relaxing time in a rustic cabin at Cumberland Mountain State Park. We wanted a quiet place to get away and this fit the bill perfectly! Our cabin was not the Ritz Carlton, nor even a Hampton Inn, but very comfortable, clean and well-stocked. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. We ate 2 meals at the delicious restaurant which has a beautiful view over the lake. Great place to inexpensively have a great weekend getaway...we are already looking at our calendars to see when we can go back and stay longer!

“Horrible!!!”

Our family of 17 stayed the weekend and from our first day the entire staff was so rude! Our cabins were disgusting there were cobwebs, black mold, and cockroaches everywhere. Not to mention the walls and ceilings had water stains which made us believe they had been flooded at some point and obviously not replaced or fixed. We felt sick every morning. There were cigarette butts and trash everywhere outside, which we had to clean up ourselves because the office wouldn't send anyone to do it. The pool was gross, all the tables were always dirty, and when a baby popped in the pool they didn't shut it down! The life guards were just kids who, instead of doing their jobs, just sat and texted all day. The person at the pool gate was rude and didn't seem to care about even being there (at least ACT friendly). This place is DISGUSTING!! If they'd just clean up and maybe replace a few light bulbs, walls, and certain employees it'd be a very nice place I'm sure, but as it is now it honestly isn't even healthy to stay here.

“We love Cumberland Mountain State Park!”

We've been staying at Cumberland Mountain State Park for years. We stay in one of the cabins, and they are quite comfortable. There is an onsite restaurant that has excellent food. The lake is quite peaceful, and has a walking trail around it. If you like quiet accomodations nestled in the woods, you will love Cumberland Mountain State Park in Crossville, TN.

“Nice, relaxing, SAFE, clean, family fun, great park!!”

Sounds to me like the person at bottom of the list has a grudge against someone at the park. Probably they were a trouble maker and are trying to still make trouble without being there. This park is a VERY nice park to visit. My family has stayed there several times in the past two years. We have not used the cabins, though I have looked at them and they are rustic but nice. We have a camper we use and have never felt unsafe. Our children are 3 and 6 and we are very at comfortable having them there. The resteraunt is nice with good food and always clean. The pool is great with plenty of lifeguards and lots of room. Also, a large kiddie pool for the smallest of swimmers. The rangers are nice and they have activities for the kids to do basically everyday (at least in the summer). My two little boys love to ride their bikes, go hiking and swimming and also playing on the play ground. As far as terrorist, well if they think Crossville is a major target then they must be pretty inept. All I can say to the person that is sooooo worried about terrorist is I hope you can walk through a forest without having to stop and look behind EVERY tree.
