“Needs Updating”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

The kids love the pool, mainly the slide. If it wasn't for them, we'd probably stay somewhere else. This Hotel does need remodeling. There was mold on the ceiling in our bathroom and our blanket had a hole that was hand sewn back together. But on a light note, The staff has always been friendly to us and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast bar has a huge hot bar..but the food is just okay. Not too bad.

“Disappointing”

Nice property with lots of potential. However, room was dirty (moldy bathroom). Lobby was always dark and forbidding. Business center and fitness room were in disrepair (broken equipment and dirty). WiFi was slow and weak.

“Ageing Property”

Stayed at this property in August 2011. Obviously, this was once a member of another chain since it had the "dome" associated with indoor pools of that chain. Now, as a Clarion property, it is showing its age; paint needs touching up on interior doors, canopy area in front of entrance needs cleaning, and the lighting in the interior dome is way too dim.

I had the worst breakfast I have ever had at a Clarion---dehydrated eggs, procesed ham floating in warm water, and very stale biscuits.

With so much competition within a three block area I wonder how long the Clarion will make it.

“Horrible! Dirty! Smelly!”

I had to take pictures of my room, just so I could show people the condition of our room! The carpet was in shreds, the bathtub was BLACK we couldn't use it. The room smelled horribly of smoke, there were people sitting outside their rooms in lawn chairs, and a man was brushing his teeth outside. I thought Clarion Hotels were high quality hotels but this one TANKS....they advertise inside rooms, and that is why we booked, but we were refused a room with an inside corridor, and put on the MOTEL side. Very deceiving! I complained to the front desk, with no results. Don't Stay Here!!!!

“Couldn't Pay Me to Stay Here Again”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 April 2011

I attended a recent business meeting at this hotel. My first impression of the hotel was not good. It looked like a Motel 6 and was quite run down on the exterior. I entered the lobby and immediately noticed what appeared to be a homeless man sitting on a cart with a large picture tube television covered in dust. I'm guessing this was the maintenance man! I went to the front desk and the attendant took considerable time to check me in. He wasn't very friendly and took at least 5 minutes to check me in despite the fact that I already had a reservation.

I proceeded to my room in the "Executive Wing" of the hotel. I found it odd that my room was on the second floor -- despite the first digit being a "4". Except for the indoor pool, the common areas of this hotel were quite worn. There were bare spots in the carpet. When arriving at my room I found that I had been assigned to a handicap room - despite the fact that I'm in my young forties in good health. The room itself was very worn and the air conditioner smelled like mildew. I recognized the same kind of TV I had seen in the lobby (very old picture tube). Every part of the room was worn and felt dirty. The towels in the bathroom had large hairs on each of the two bath towels.

Next, I picked up the phone to call the front desk to ask about whether the hotel had WIFI capabilities. To my dismay, the phone did nothing but give me a dial tone or busy signal dispite my dialing the front desk and operator numbers. I then laughed at the thought of this hotel having WIFI access.

The one positive I can report is that I did sleep reasonably well after taking Tylenol PM! It was quiet -- probably not a popular place to stay given other options in the area. I went to the breakfast buffet and it was gross. The waitress was not friendly at all and did virtually nothing to offer any meaningful service. The food was so bad that I attempted to find a cereal bar or something at the hotel shop. The only problem was there wasn't any hotel shop to buy anything from!!!

To top off my experience at this hotel, this is the first place I've ever stayed without daily maid service for the room (bed was not made, no clean towels provided). The best thing about this hotel was that I was able to check out after the 2nd night and return home. You could not pay me to return to this hotel! Worst place I've ever stayed.
