“OK for the Price”

We were traveling cross-country and this was in the right location. Access was easy, right off the highway. Staff was friendly enough. Breakfast was good (including waffles.) Room was adequate, but something is wrong with the flooring on the first floor. It appeared to be wood, not concrete, under the carpet, and there were definite weak spots. Termites or water damage? Also, I'm never certain of the cleanliness of the bedspreads in budget motels. I would prefer that all motels use light-weight bedspreads that can be washed along with sheets.

Room Tip: back side is quieter

“Great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011

My family and I were traveling and happen to stop in Cookeville, Tn. at the Days Inn to be exact. The staff and accomidations were great, easy access to all restraunts and right off the main road in town where there were plenty of stores in which all the staff were quick to give directions or help out in any way, would definately stop there again .

The room was nice, the rate was cheap, and the staff was great! There are also plenty of restaurants within walking distance and waffles for breakfast.

“No idea why there are good reviews”

It is true we have stayed at dirtier motels. But this location is certainly not worth the stellar ratings given by others reviewers in my opinion. The A/C air return is clogged with dirt, the bedspread was ripped, the "flat screen" TV described by another reviewer is a "flat screen" old fashioned tube based television (no problem with me, but the other review was misleading). The rooms in general are old-looking and need to be updated. We stayed at a Days Inn "motel-type" property in Chipley, FL about 2 years ago, and were very impressed with how they have renovated and updated an old motel with exterior corridors. They would do well to do the same with this property.

“Typical for the price but those in moving trucks take note”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

As my husband and I were moving across the country from Boston to Phoenix we needed hotels along the way. These hotels had to have a) a bed, b) a shower, c) a place to park a 16' box truck towing a car on a trailer. Plus it needed to be inexpensive because we knew the budget for gas was going through the roof. Days Inn Cookeville, TN covered the short list of items we needed. Wanted, well that was another story.

There were only about 5 total truck parking spots which I found odd as the hotel was right off a major interstate. We arrived to find only 1 still available at 10:00 PM. We were told there was no outlet around the back of the building. This is very important if you're moving in a similar truck because you WILL HAVE TO BACK UP with your trailer regardless of which spot you get to park in. We tackled that in the morning & it was a royal pain but not the hotel's fault that we couldn't really manuver, the lot was decent sized but we attempted a full turn & that might not have been the best plan. We made it work eventually & check out was a breeze. If you do arrive in a similar vehicle try to arrive early enough to get a spot in the front so backing up is a straighter shot.

3 out of 5 because it was slightly musty smelling but had a clean coffee maker/fridge, the towels were rough but the bed was comfortable and I didn't want to ask what the signs were indicating as 'Hazardous Water' behind the hotel in the creek.

Only spent about $50 so didn't expect more than average, wasn't overly impressed but not let down either.
