As my husband and I were moving across the country from Boston to Phoenix we needed hotels along the way. These hotels had to have a) a bed, b) a shower, c) a place to park a 16' box truck towing a car on a trailer. Plus it needed to be inexpensive because we knew the budget for gas was going through the roof. Days Inn Cookeville, TN covered the short list of items we needed. Wanted, well that was another story.
There were only about 5 total truck parking spots which I found odd as the hotel was right off a major interstate. We arrived to find only 1 still available at 10:00 PM. We were told there was no outlet around the back of the building. This is very important if you're moving in a similar truck because you WILL HAVE TO BACK UP with your trailer regardless of which spot you get to park in. We tackled that in the morning & it was a royal pain but not the hotel's fault that we couldn't really manuver, the lot was decent sized but we attempted a full turn & that might not have been the best plan. We made it work eventually & check out was a breeze. If you do arrive in a similar vehicle try to arrive early enough to get a spot in the front so backing up is a straighter shot.
3 out of 5 because it was slightly musty smelling but had a clean coffee maker/fridge, the towels were rough but the bed was comfortable and I didn't want to ask what the signs were indicating as 'Hazardous Water' behind the hotel in the creek.
Only spent about $50 so didn't expect more than average, wasn't overly impressed but not let down either.
