We've become spoiled by EXCEPTIONAL HTS locations in Tuscaloosa and Auburn. This place looks like an old WWII barracks that has been converted to a hotel. The musty smells and the fact that there is no elevator, just don't give one a great first impression. Here's the biggest problem, though. IF YOU MAKE RESERVATIONS VIA THE WEBSITE or ORBITZ, you'd better call the property and confirm it. In Auburn, reservations that were made directly on the HTS site weren't recorded at the hotel site. Even though I had a reservation number, it was still a chore to check in. Another time, we booked through Southwest Airlines (which uses Orbitz) and none of that information was communicated to the property. They told me, "Oh...we didn't have your number on file, so we couldn't confirm that you were coming. We had people who wanted to extend, and we gave them permission." Let it suffice to say that short of becoming an overflowing volcano, my contempt with such a policy got us into our rooms, but not until they tried to move us to neighboring properties. I agree with just about everyting that others say on this forum, and have seen the best and worst of what can happen here. We found the staff to be VERY helpful, and courteous, but weren't too psyched about the physical property. We'll probably move to a different property in Clarksville, since this location is just not on-par with our expectations for a HTS location. If you need an economical, clean and convenient place to bed for a night or two, though, this is an acceptable place. (Oh....no health center, but you do get free membership at a big fitness center down the street...very nice)
