“Diamond Rating got this one wrong!!”

This hotel was deceiving when we entered the lobby. Seemed nice. Then we opened the door to our room. The room was small, the air conditioner wouldn't cool the room and the worst of the worst mattresses on the beds I've slept on in 20 years. my back hurt so bad when I woke up I could barely walk. The tv malfunctioned and add the cobwebs and carpet in need of vacuuming, we could not wait for our stay to end.

Room Tip: Choose a different hotel.

“Nice hotel for the price & location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011

Stayed two nights in room 1512 (15th floor of 16 floors), king bed next to the elevators. The room was clean, nicely appointed, but a little dated. The bathroom was tiny!!! Because the bathroom backed up to the elevators, the sink was at an angle - you had to close the door to use the sink properly. Elevator lobby was loud, as well as the vending area. Because we were traveling with another family and we were both on the same floor, we didn't request a move. Would stay here again, but will make sure to request a room far far away from the elevators. Room service was excellent; prices were average - was pleasantly surprised at the amount of food served and tasted great. Starbucks is located in the lobby - save your cup, self-serve refills are only $1 (The hotel does not offer complimentary coffee). City's free shuttle was right outside the door - was very convenient as we did not have to drive to the downtown area & park. If you choose to walk around outside after dark, would recommend doing so in groups and not alone - we encountered a few 'shady characters' walking down the street.

Room Tip: Stay away from rooms next to the elevator - hallway noise is loud and bathrooms are smaller and more...

“Fine hotel, excellent staff”

Stayed here for a quick one-night business trip. Staff was helpful in directing me around town for dinner and nearby meetings. Gym was very nice - up to Marriott standards with free weights and good cardio equipment.

Hot breakfast in Lounge was a nice touch. When in Chattanooga again, I'll be back.

Room Tip: Look for a river view - Chattanooga is a very pretty city to travel to.

“Atrocious front desk and accounting”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

Checked in for a 2 day stay last week. Made the reservation by phone a few weekes earlier thorugh Marriott reservations. When I got there they had no record of it. I called my conceriege from the lobby and there was a room available. Would have been nice to hear that from the front desk half an hour earlier. When I checked out 2 days later there was a restaurant charge from the hotel, but I never ate there. They said I would have to call back. Called back 8 hours later and the manager was in a meeting and hadn't looked through "all the restaurants receipts" yet. Had to call back. Then I got another $233 charge from the same hotel for not showing up for my reservation (the same one I "never made"). Called them and was told at 4:30 that accounting was gone for the weekend. Called Marriott 800 internet reservations, they "don't handle billing issues", although they could confirm that I stayed there and was also charged for not staying there. Called Marriott Customer Care and was told they don't handle billing "disputes". What a farce. Perhaps I imagined everything and was never there, I'll take the $233 no show fee over the $580 for staying there. Sheesh.

Room Tip: Choose another hotel close to the Tennessee River.

“Good Convention Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2011

Stayed 3 nights for a meeting in a suite. The hotel definitely needs some updating. The nice sized suite I had for entertaining was on the 3rd floor with a poor view. The layout was awkward with a huge closet and bathroom, but small bedroom and decent entertaining area. It has potential to be a nice hotel. It could also benefit from a beverage service at the pool area.
