“Don't be put off by other reviews!”

We had booked this place before we read the reviews, and were dreading what we would find, however we feel people have been extremely harsh and unrealistic about what to expect in a very cheap place to stay.

Though the motel reception area is admittedly shabby and could do with some tender loving care, the room we were given was very clean and smelled fresh and was peaceful. Though again the bedroom furniture was a bit shabby the bedding was spotless, and the beds very comfortable. The bathroom was perfectly clean, and there was masses of hot water. The shower gave good performance. We asked for extra towels, which were brought to us in minutes, and so was a coffee maker. Tthe manager and his wife were very pleasant and could not do enough to make us comfortable, advised us on places to eat and things to see, and we enjoyed our time with them. Other staff we came into contact with were equally polite and helpful.

Don 't be put off by first impressions in the reception area, and we did advise them to smarten it up a bit as first impressions count.

If you want masses of fluffy towels, bath robes and cordon bleu breakfasts then pay to stay at an expensive hotel. We thought this place was good value for money.

Room Tip: Our room was the first next to reception and was clean and quiet, in fact in spite of reports we had...

“AWFUL!!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

we checked this hotel out on line to start with...once arriving we were checked into a non-smoking room, which upon entering the room smelled like a cigarette smoking contest had gone on,we asked for another room and were given one...no power button was on the tv and no remote was in the room..we had to go get a tv remote and only one towel was in the room...the breakfast was 2 plastic containers with a little bit of cereal in the bottom, and a waffle iron where you could make your own waffles ( batter was spilled all over the counter underneath it)...this is a waste of your money and would be advised at all cost to avoid this hotel...

“Absolutely Disgusting”

This was the worst hotel experience of my life! The room was fillthy, there was blood from the previous guests on the shower curtain, there were nails sticking out of the headboard on one of the beds. There were guests down the hall who yelled and argued in the hall all night long and the front desk personnel refused to do anything about it. We only got one towel for the room and were not given anymore when we asked. There were transients BBQing at the pool area and people from another hotel invading the pool. It was absolutely ridiculous.

“Absolutely Disgusting, Avoid At ALL Cost!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 July 2011

This is hands down the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed at. We went to a local amusement park and were literally too tired to make the trip home. We've stayed at Knights Inn hotels before, I thought we knew what to expect. The FIRST room was in the basement, a non-smoking room that smelled like someone lit up a whole carton just before we walked in the door. The sliding window that went toward the parking lot wouldn't even lock, so anyone could (and probably does) slip in during the night whenever they please. The second room (after the less than enthusiastic window person finally found one), wasn't much different. The window also wouldn't lock (though it was on the second floor, so it wasn't as much of an issue), the room still smelled like a carton of Pall Mall's, there were used bathcloths hanging from the shower rod, the knob for the slider lock was broken off the door, the ceiling tiles around the bathroom vent were encrusted with black filth and about to fall down, the sofa looked like a homicide scene (as another reviewer said, "I don't want to know") Same for the chair, etc. etc. As I had said, we were beat, so we took showers with the two towels and single bar of soap, locked the one functional lock, wedged the ironing board against the foot of the door and wall, and crashed. In the morning we were greeted to the "breakfast"; two ancient plastic containers of equally as ancient cereal (with no milk), half a dozen slices of bread, a few squirts of coffee, and a make your own waffle iron (the one wholly working item of the lot). There was one plate, three bowls, and no napkins. With eleven people waiting, the girl just simply said, "We're out, we have no more". This was at 8:30, for a breakfast that ends at 9:00. If not for the fact that we were exhausted, and knew we wouldn't receive a refund, we would have simply piled in the car and slept in a Wal Mart parking lot, and probably felt safer there too!!

“What you see is often deceiving”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 July 2011

My husband and I stayed here on a recent trip to Chattanooga, mainly due to the discounted rate he received through his place of employment. From the road as we pulled into this establishment, things looked nice. Check-in went smoothly enough, until the front desk clerk didn't write down which room we were to be in and I had to go back and ask. As a former Super 8 Motel assistant manager, I am seriously aware of the privacy/safety of the guests, but there should have been a key card envelope with the room number clearly stated.
As we drove around the back, as per desk clerk instructions, the "nice" feeling from earlier observation, quickly went out the window. The clientele hovering around the back entrance door left both of us feeling slightly uneasy. As we entered the motel, the absolute stench was almost enough to make us leave. Further observations were stained, threadbare carpeting, walls that were chipped and in serious need of repair and painting, room doors where the security latch had been broken off , windows that has no screens on them, bathroom tub faucet that didn't work properly, sink that drained ever so slowly and overall major lack of upkeep. I was totally embarrassed that this motel was a Wyndham property.
