We had booked this place before we read the reviews, and were dreading what we would find, however we feel people have been extremely harsh and unrealistic about what to expect in a very cheap place to stay.
Though the motel reception area is admittedly shabby and could do with some tender loving care, the room we were given was very clean and smelled fresh and was peaceful. Though again the bedroom furniture was a bit shabby the bedding was spotless, and the beds very comfortable. The bathroom was perfectly clean, and there was masses of hot water. The shower gave good performance. We asked for extra towels, which were brought to us in minutes, and so was a coffee maker. Tthe manager and his wife were very pleasant and could not do enough to make us comfortable, advised us on places to eat and things to see, and we enjoyed our time with them. Other staff we came into contact with were equally polite and helpful.
Don 't be put off by first impressions in the reception area, and we did advise them to smarten it up a bit as first impressions count.
If you want masses of fluffy towels, bath robes and cordon bleu breakfasts then pay to stay at an expensive hotel. We thought this place was good value for money.
