By the reviews thought this would be a good choice for us in the mountains. Bathroom was from the 1980s- in dire need of updating. The tub surround had a major crack in it filled with caulk and mold. The tub had a yellow ring in the bottom. UGH. I asked to be moved. The very nice staff moved me to a nicer room with a fireplace. Bad decision. The malfunctioning fireplace was a disappointment. I notified the front desk staff that it would periodically turn off, then come back on and they didn't seem alarmed. After checking out, I realized that my headache and sick stomach from the two day stay magically disappeared. Perhaps a gas leak in the room? Hampton corporate should perhaps reexamine this hotel. Again, very nice staff, but the decor/rooms perhaps need a thorough safety check.

When I travel up and down I-75 about twice a year to visit relatives and need a place to overnight, I head for the Hampton Inn at Caryville, just north of Knoxville. This hotel is absolutely the best option in this class of hotel. The hotel and the guests are lovingly cared for, the hot breakfast is one of the better for this type of accomodation, the staff take great pride in their work and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and the owner can be found pouring coffee and chatting it up with the guests most mornings. The owner is also a history buff and has made the hotel into a museum of sorts. You can't go wrong here.

Was randomly looking for a place to land after 8 hours of driving and happened upon the Hampton Inn in Caryville - what a wonderful surprise. I guess it is true what they say about "Southern Hospitality!" We upgraded to the King Size bed with fireplace, whirlpool tub, and balcony. The room was very clean and comfortable. The employees make you feel welcome and if you are lucky enough to meet the owner, "Hack", then you're in for a real treat. I've never written a review before, but there is something special about this place that makes you want to share it with others.
