We like B&Bs off the main roads. Pinhook qualified and offered quiet surroundings and dark skies, sunrises and sunsets, comfy lodging and fabulous breakfasts, an amiable hostess ready to provide helpful and interesting information, and dogs and cats to love on. We recommend a minimum of two nights in order to be able to explore the area. Ellen guided us to a nearby state park on the Hiawasse River, where we enjoyed a picnic lunch on the river bank and an easy hike. Other more adventuresome trails are available as well. We ate dinner both of our nights at Michael's in Etowah, known for its BBQ and house sauce. Bread and loaded potato soup were great, too. Take the time to find your way to Pinhook, if you travel in the Chattanooga area. It's not that far from I-75.
