Over the years, we (formerly) chose Best Westerns because of the quality of the rooms and the affordable rates. It looks like Americas Best Value Inns are working to restore this choice to travelers. A very good reference is their own rating guide.

We stopped late at night, got in the room quickly, the room was clean and comfortable, and the rate was GREAT.

To be honest, at $52.78 (including tax) this was a good value for the money.
The rooms are fairly clean (ish) and are a good size. However, there is an underlying 'funky' smell that is everywhere - from the lobby to the rooms. When I laid down for the night the smell was not sleep inspiring to say the least.
The motel itself used to be a Best Western. The breakfast area itself is quite nice but the 'breakfast' consists of coffee and muffins. As soon as you enter the lobby you encounter that smell.
Even after I had arrived home and was unpacking I was catching little wafts of that smell.
But to be honest this place is a good value it's main drawback is that smell.
Generally speaking though I could (almost) recommend this motel to (almost) just about every type of traveler.
