“Would I stay there again? Probably not...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2011

Reviews on Trip Advisor indicated some of the rooms had been recently remodeled. I requested a remodeled room, but I saw no evidence of any upgrades.

The lighting throughout the room was *extremely poor*. I'd recommend better lighting at least by the vanity so a woman can put on her makeup.

The toilet didn't flush well and it wasn't properly bolted to the floor. The full length mirror on the bathroom door was falling off. The headboard on one of the beds was loose on the wall and banged against the wall when you got in/out of bed or rolled over. The internet was SOOOO slow it was unusable. The TV remote batteries would come loose and then the remote would lose it's programming info for the TV. The walls were paper thin, you could hear the toilet, shower and TV in the adjacent rooms.

The price of the room mysteriously increased the more days we stayed.

It was clean, cheap, bed-bug-free and close to the hospital.

Would I stay there again? Probably not without seeing the room first and testing the internet connection.

“It's too bad there were so many good reviews”

This place is in renovation at this time, but aside from this, it's not a good place to stay. The so-called free wi-fi is basically non-existent - too weak a signal to use. The rebar is showing all along the overhang, the ceiling in the room is crumbling, the breakfast area has a waffle maker that is non-operable (it looked like they didn't want to bother with the service and clean-up) and it just wasn't worth the price. It would have been better to find a Motel 6 or similar that didn't even provide breakfast and was at least clean and in a stable building. The parking area is a mess; a man was trimming the dry, half-dead bushes and the "weed protective" fabric was showing in many places, weeds all over and the rocks on top strewn all over. We wouldn't stay there again.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience at our hotel. We take pride in keeping our guest happy and making sure they enjoy their stay. We currently have two properties "Super8" and "Travelodge" on our premises and both lobbies are going through renovations and upgrades. We recently received a waffle maker for our breakfast area, but unfortunately it didn't come with all needed attachments to be operationally safe. The company has since sent all supplies needed to make waffle maker fully operational.

Once again we do apologize for your unfortunate experience with our property. As you stated we are going through renovations. This property was a locally owned chain and we decided to upgrade to national chain status. In doing this it required a higher hotel standard and better service to gain national chain notoriety.

We are less than a year through renovation and are still upgrading every aspect of our business. We are continuing to improve everyday so that we can make customers like yourself have the best possible experience when staying at our hotel.

We use every review as a training tool with all our employees so that each and everyone is engaged in the business. We feel that this review will only help us grow in a way that will only improve our customer service and make customers like yourself had a more enjoyable stay.

Once again thanks for the review and we hope in the future you will give our hotel a chance to give you a better enjoyable experience.

“Great Deal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 March 2011

My boyfriend and I are on a roadtrip across the country. We stopped for the night in Bristol at the Travelodge on the way to Memphis. The staff was extremely friendly and accomodating, the rooms were clean and the price was extremely budget friendly. The rooms are all being remodeled we stayed in one of the older rooms but it was clean and just fine for what we needed. All in all a great place to stay!

“Just Like Being at Home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 March 2011

I moved from Panama Cuty Beach FL in September to Bristol TN without knowing a soul in the city!! I had found TravelLodge of Bristol (formerly Bristol Lodging Service) on this web site. It is family operated by the Patel's, whom I now consider my friends although I got my apartment in March 2011. I highly reccommend TravelLodge of Bristol to everyone - adults, travelers with children and by the way, dogs are welcome.

“Great Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2010

This is our second stay. We stayed last year around the same time while traveling for the holidays. Great place to stay when traveling with a dog or family. The staff are wonderful. They only charged $7 for our dog. Price was comparable to a Motel 6 or other budget hotels. Rooms are large so great for a family. Large grassy areas with picnic tables and a swimming pool for kids in the summer. Includes a small continental breakfast. There are no restaurants next to it, but there are plenty of places that deliver or you can drive a few miles to a restaurant. As far as the room it was very clean. Just remember it is not a high end hotel, but a great place to stay for the money. We will stay again when we pass through.
