I have stayed in this hotel several times over past few years and I have noticed a noticable deterioration everytime I stay here. I noticed in my recent stay that some of the best staff they had are no longer seen and a new set of not-so-courteous people have been hired. Hotel needs some serious repairs and upgrades. The furnishing looks really dull and the rooms have started smelling bad. The airconditioning needs some serious help too. I always like this hotel because of great staff like Kim but I havent seen her around lately. The current staff does not cooperate and are one of the main reasons why I wouldnt stay in this hotel again. As an example, when I checked-in, I requested for a first floor room since I was unable to walk much or climb stairs due to a sore knee. The staff turned me down saying that the entire hotel was full. I later realize that there were several room available and the staff deliberately put me in a second floor room that required me to walk atleast half the hallway length even if I take the elevator. Secondly the room amenities have been outdated and in most cases, not working. The heater fan would never stop so it would first heat the room and then start throwing cold air in the room and making it freeze before startng the heater again. The hot-cold cycles gave me a stiff back the first night itself. The kitchen sink was chocked, the bathroom sink was cracked and the wardrobe door would almost fall on you if you touch it. The rooms look dull and depressing due to a bad choice of colors for walls, carpets and drapes.
The management was very approachable and hospitable earlier but now they too seem to have become very commercial. I definately want to appreciate the housekeeping service. Despite such tragic condition of the hotel, they still do a good job when it comes to weekly full housekeeping service. However they just have one problem, most of them dont speak english and it becomes a problem if you have to communicate to them.
The beds are comfortable and the couch was good to have especially when I travelled with my family few months back. The kitchen is OK with just basic equipment. The rooms have good number of shelves and storage space though.
Overall, I have decided to stay away from this hotel till they upgrade not just their amenities but their attitude as well. I have noticed several people have same opinion as me and I am hoping that the management does read the feedback seriously. There are several hotels around this area and with increasing competetion, the hotel needs to stay upto-date to
