Picked this hotel because of the swim pool. Nice updated outside, check in was very easy and great customer service.

However...getting to our room, window smudged all over, room wasn't vacumned with popcorn and seeds on the floor, our ice bucket must have been used for the popcorn bucket and wasn't wiped out. GROSS. And under the bed looked like it had never been cleaned--with lots of food pieces and debris. That was a little disappointing for the price. My son adored the pool (even though we witnessed numerous falls by children due to the surface of the area around pool...too SLICK!) Needs some minor updates and parking lot needs a good once over as the landscaping is covered with cig butts & garbage. Would have loved a fridge but wasn't supplied.

Overall, we would stay here again but next time, I may ask to switch to a clean room!!! It makes all the difference!

I didn't expect a whole lot--I didn't think Yankton was going to be a thriving metropolis, although I greatly enjoy small towns in the heartland and all their local character. It turned out that the Kelly Inn was a great place to stay. The rooms are huge for the price, and this will keep me coming back. I was in the middle of a road trip and wanted to check out the lake--the hotel wasn't far from the area and the indoor water park kind of took me down memory lane (yes, as an adult, I actually went a little hog wild in there). The attached restaurant wasn't bad. All the service was friendly and welcoming. Everything was clean, I had no doubt if I needed something it would be provided, and the WiFi was the quickest of my entire trip. This is a good business they're running here, and if you're in Yankton, I would recommend it.

Pros: Room larger than expected with both an inside and outside door, meaining we could park outside and walk right into the room instead of having to walk through the hotel lobby. Pool was clean and in good repair.

Complaints: Nothing really, it was exactly what I expected.

Overall: A nice budget-friendly place to stay for a travelling family.

As i arrived on sat. the lady at the desk was so helpful. Once we arrived to our room we noticed a few things wrong with the room. For starts the room was really chilly and smelled stale. The was garbage under the dresser by the tv, pieces of m&m's behind the door, under the garbage can there was a candy wrapper and lint. Room was dusty and stale smelling. Bathroom was the only good thing about the room. When we left for the evening and later returned we had more issues.
When i called for an extra pillow it took nearly 30 minutes for them to bring it to my room. There was barking dogs, and kids screaming down the hallway, when i reported it was never addressed because i had to go outside of my room and ask the kids to quite down.
When we went down for breakfast in the mornig the breakfast room was filthy but noone was in the room cleaning or restocking items. The muffins,bagels, and donuts were ice cold like they had just be taken out of the freezer. No waffle batter available and garbage cand overflowing and everything was extremely low in product and utensils. When i went up tp the front desk (Jake) was reading the newspaper and when i informed him of situation all he said he could do was call someone to help me out in the breakfast room.
I will have second thoughts about staying there again in the future. There was so much else to say but that is the hightlights also the pool was a big issue which we caould not use.
