“OK for sleeping, tiny pool way over chlorinated, cold tub”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2010

The pool is tiny, it was 95 degrees air so you couldn't even sit in there and watch the kids. The pool was way over chlorinated, it hurt your eyes just from the air.

The hot tub would be more properly termed a "cold" tub.

Perhaps they were having issues, but we were not told of any when we checked in without reservations.

The rooms were fine, standard hotel.

“VERY DISAPPOINTED”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 April 2010

My Wife and I stayed here over the Easter weekend and when we got here the room was clean and comfortable, The disappointing thing was, is when we got here the girl at the desk told us the pool and hot tub were open until 11pm. We made this reservation based on the fact it had a pool and hottub, but when we went down to use them a sign on the door stated that " due to maintanaince problems the pool and hot tub were cold". After that we went back to the room and when we went down to get ice the soda machine was " out of oder due to manitainance problems" also. The outside security doors dont need a room key to enter, just pull the door and you are in, even though it looks like you need a room key.

“A good value for the price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 March 2009

We found a room here at the last minute while in Sioux Falls. We only paid around $62 after taxes for a double room. This is a great deal for the Sioux Falls area. The beds were comfy. The pool was tiny and a bit dark but the kids still had fun! We didn't try the breakfast as we had to check out in the morning.

“Just 2 problems”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2008

We had an OK stay...beds were fine, staff was friendly, etc., but there was a snag that really hacked us off. I had called before we came and asked 2 separate individuals if we could leave our car in the parking lot as we were going on a cruise and flying out of Sioux Falls, but then coming back after the cruise and staying another night. This was a major factor in choosing our hotel. They both said yes, but i asked for a manager to call me back the day before we stayed to make sure. The girl I talked to said she would have the manager call me back. No one called me. We showed up at the hotel and the manager said that we couldn't leave our van there after all. So, we had to scramble to find a place to leave the van. Major pain in the tail!

Also, the fitness room is really not great- an old treadmill and a really old elliptical machine.

“Did the job”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2007

We stayed at the Comfort Inn North as an overnight stop while driving
to Chicago. It is just off the interstate and next to a gas station (I walked over to see if they had vacant rooms while my husband pumped gas). Fortunately they did as it was around 10 PM, wind was gusting and rain started to fall. The room and hotel was fine. The reception staff was friendly but a bit slow (when we got there they were on break smoking out front). We needed a non-smoking room that allowed pets and one was available so it was fine for us. If we were driving through and needed a place to sleep we'd stay here again.

  • Liked — proximity to interstate, pet friendly
  • Disliked — need more cereal choices for breakfast
