As soon as I checked in at 5pm it was extremely loud in the hotel with children running the halls and people running up and down the stair. Also noticed as I went to swipe my key card at the entrance from outside into the building the key card box was totally broken and the door was wide open for ANYBODY to come right into the hotel. I felt VERY unsafe. right off the bat.Then once I got to bed I was woken up by loud drunks and children screaming and crying at 10pm,12am,2am,and 5am. At 12am I called the front desk and Brian said he would say something to the loud guests "if he saw them". Nothing was done, and they continued to be loud. Then at 2am I called the front desk again and Kory answered. Kory actually went up to the room of the loud drunks and asked them to be quite. I had to call again at 2:30am and Kory went back up to the room and told the guests they had to leave. THANK YOU KORY! I received a bit of a refund for the room. I was very disappointed with BRIAN the front desk man and very disappointed with the lack of sleep I got.

1st room was very unclean, but we were moved to a much better room, would give 2nd room a 3/5. Pool area needs overhaul, pool and water slide just ok, steam room has horrible mold smell to it, cannot be healthy, hot tub is downright nasty, even after complaining they did nothing to fix it, claim it is "natural". Smells badly of urine, water is yellow, maybe a bit too "natural" for our taste. Breakfast was normal free breakfast fare, good for being free. Tried hard to make this work, but overall hotel is in unsatisfactory condition, would not reccommend. Staff is nice enough, but hotel has the 15 year old, in bad need of a cleaning feel to it.

Absolutely love this place! First of all, it's beautiful when you walk inside. There is a fireplace that you can sit by in the lobby and have a good conversation, or just read a paper. It doesn't feel like a hotel, but more like a welcoming home. The staff is super friendly and check-in was a breeze. The room we rented was a suite with a fireplace and a whirlpool. It had a sofa sleeper and a king-sized bed that was really comfy. The room is also super quiet and I never once heard noise from the hallway or other rooms. My kids had a blast at the pool which has a water slide that doesn't empty into the pool. Because of that it made it possible for my 3-year-old to enjoy the slide without having to end up in water that was too deep. The hot tub was the perfect temperature. It also had a steam room that was nice. In the morning we had their free breakfast downstairs. It had waffles, biscuits and gravy, cereal, fruit, yogurt, muffins, donuts, and just about anything else you could imagine. Coffee was great and so was the food. Overall, the price was very reasonable and this is simply a great place to stay. Will definately be staying there again!

We have stayed here multiple times over the years and always had a great experience. The winter rate is unbeatable for a king room and the the staff is very friendly and helpful. We enjoy sitting by the fireplace in the evening and reading and enjoying the ambiance.The morning breakfast is very adequate and it is just a very nice place to stay while in Rapid City.
