We were on a family vacation and had spent all day seeing Laura Ingalls homes in MN and South Dakota, then finishing up at the Corn Palace. The next day we had Wall Drug planned and the Black Hills. We stopped at this Super 8 on 90 as we were tired and ready to get a good nights rest. I had stayed at Super 8's before with no problems, but this experience ruined us for ever staying at one again. We paid for the room unloaded the car and went to the room. After flipping the sheets back we noticed dark stains on teh pillows then flipped the sheets back-they were stained yellow and crusty you can use your imagination for that. I immediately went to the desk and reported it and he said they had a new maid on that side and was willing to change rooms-ok I am flexible and understanding. Taking me to that room and showing me I flipped back the sheets and those pillow cases were dirty-the owner claimed it was the dryer making stains. Then I said if it was a problem of that sort why wasn't it fixed?? I never stayed at any chain where the sheets or pillow cases were put on a bed with stains!!! AT that point he said he didn't know what to do and I said I want a refund we are going downt he road.. On the way out we noticed the breakfast are was dirty and the coffee pot not cleaned. Wonder how many more problemd we would have encounted, but I know I couldn't have slept there as I am a fairly clean person. Too another note it was next to a busy truck stop and noisy just to add to the whole thing. On another note we drove west till we found another set of chains and found a wonderful Quality Inn where we only paid $2 more dollars than Super 8 and got a beautiful suite to boot. Also had a bountiful breakfast buffet there and yes for only $2 more. We have told friends about our experience which is laughable now, but when you are traveling with family and tired there is nothing funny about it at the time!
