I stayed there in September 2010 & was very unimpressed. Walked into a lobby that reaked of cigarette smoke - what a great scent to greet your guests. The hotel staff are very unprofessional in appearance or attitude. As I was standing at the counter waiting to check out, I overheard the person who was supposed to be working the front desk in an expletive-laden tirade with another person. Had to wait for that to wrap up to get help.

. After checking in, I was handed my room keys in a small while mailing envelope, probably because the ownership was too cheap to spend the money to get the actual hotel brand folders to slip them into.

I turned on the TV and there's a crawler that kept running over the screen stating something to the effect of "if you can read this, you have not yet obtained a digital converter and will soon be unable to view programming." How long have we all known digital converters were needed? Again, management no doubt squeezing every penny vs. actually upgrading for the enjoyment of guests. Nice treat, watching TV with that running over and over across the screen.

The night I was there, I worked late into the night, and didn't get to bed until about 1:30 AM. At 6, my phone rang. When I picked up, I was told this was my wakeup call - which was odd, since I hadn't requested one! I wonder how surprised the other person was who didn't get that wakeup call they needed?

When I went down to the free breakfast, it was pretty well picked over despite my arrival over an hour before it was supposed to be done, so I wound up just going to a local restaurant as opposed to eating the fare provided.

By the way, there IS a fitness center, but you'd get a better workout walking or running outside than using their antiquated, poorly maintained equipment.

I'd highly recommend checking for vacancy at other hotels in town before stopping at the Comfort Inn Huron.

We look for places with a gym as we are on a long cross country trip. They told me they had a good one, but when we went to it in the AM, there was a bike from the 70s, a barely functioning eliptical and a broken treadmill. We had paid a fee about $10 above the average for the ability to exercise.

The room's nice and clean. People were nice and they accept pets.

Very rude lady said they would meet super 8 rates. then denial took over, kept their word for a couple of days and ran out customer laughed and swore at hime on the way out. Very friendly staff at super 8 and they keep their rates as promised.
