I was held over an extra day and wanted to change my date to stay at the hotel by 24 hours. They were very rude and and would not even consider letting me do this. They just charged me for the room that I could not use.

A good place to stay while attending events in Columbia be it sporting events at the University of South Carolina if you need to stay overnight or if attending events at the Colonial Center. It is convienient to the airport but there are no major restaurants nearby.
This is a place to overnite if traveling as it is next to Interstate 26.

The front desk staff was good. That is about all that was good with our stay in this motel. We hadn't even unlocked the door to the room when two women in the corridor stopped us to tell us to check for bedbugs. Their room had them and they had to be moved. We turned the bedding upside down but found no bugs. However we DId see sheets that looked like they had been slept in. The blanket was scuzzy and the bedspread had threads hanging all over it and stains everywhere. We went to the front desk and got new sheets and a blanket and make the bed up ourselves. The old bedding was used on the floor to provide us with a covering on the carpet which was gross....it was all wrinkled and filthy. The shower was old and looked like it had been patched with grout and paint. The breakfast was not good....waffles that stuck to the waffle maker and stale cereal. I couldn't eat the little bagel that I toasted....very strange taste. As if all of this wasn't bad enough, after we checked out in the morning we had to make our way through 4 or 5 hostile, fighting men (actually one was a woman). The police were called and arrived just as we drove off. I hate to complain about this place since it was a "free night" that I received under Choice Hotels' "Privileges Plan". But, if I was looking to stay in that area in the future I would find a better motel.

2 rooms, showers and toilets filthy in both. Sheets hairy and A/C broken. Breakfast of carbs and outdated workout room
