“Excellent hotel property”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

This is an excellent hotel. Clean, well maintained, with good front desk customer service. The fitness room contains an elliptical, treadmill, and cycle...all worked very well. The breakfast was the standard continental breakfast fare with eggs and gravy as added choices. The breakfast was not the best I've had, but it wasn't the worst either. Overall, you can count on this property for a good night's stay. The room was very comfortable, well furnished, and the heater/ac unit worked well.

“Good For Traveling I-95”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

While traveling up and down I-95 over the last few months, we ended up staying here two times. It is conveniently located just off I-95 and there are a few restaurants available nearby. The first time we ate at Ruby Tuesday, which was fine, while the second time we had already eaten at a prior exit where we received several unacceptable rooms at a hotel and decided to keep driving. Both times staying here we received a clean room and a reasonable rate. The breakfast is nice (not sure about those who said it is nothing special...there are waffles, yogurt, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, sausage gravy, juice, coffee, tea, and a few other items--more than adequate for a free breakfast!) but it only runs until 9am, which is a little disappointing. The rooms are quite large and the beds are not too old, thus still pretty comfortable. If we are looking for a place to stop again around Walterboro, we would stay again.

Room Tip: If you're traveling with more than 4 people, they have suites with a pull-out sofa for just a li...

“Great hotel near I-95”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

This hotel really surprised me. It is just off I-95 and because of the close location, I imagined a very noisy night. Not the case. My room was on the highway side and I didn't hear a thing. Yes, it may be an older hotel, but it has been up-dated inside. I found it to be very clean, very quiet, and very comfortable. No foul odors or icky spots. Friendly staff greets everyone. I had a king sized bed, little frig and a microwave, and coffe pot. What didn't I like? The long walk to and from the front desk and breakfast if your room, like mine, is at the far end. After a nice breakfast, one needs to walk anyway. Reasonably priced. Smoke free and no pets. This was a good selection.

Room Tip: Two floors with elevator. Ample parking. Rooms on the end are a good distance from front desk and...

“Old but clean”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

This is a very large OLD place. They have redecorated it, but it still shows its age... small bathroom, rickety stair rail, stale old-smoke odor, uneven hallway floor, etc. It is fairly neat and clean, but the room, with its dark color scheme has a spare, stark feel.
Breakfast was nothing special... the usual fare, probably actually below average (no butter available, just margarine, etc.) and the lights were shut off at the food counter by 8:50.
The rack price ($90+) is ridiculous. Even with the travel coupon discount, the $64.99 is too high for the area.
